Sorry to sort of threadjack with all the awesome pictures here, but I am new to Bmws, and GS's and just got an 02 1150GS, and haven't ventured off road, but hope to eventually, I see many pictures of people going through streams and other bodies of water where the heads are almost submerged, and read threads saying that this can ruin the motor, are people just risking it here, or is it okay if its not too much water, and the bike will be just fine in shallow water.. I just don't want to someday try and cross a small stream or other water and have the motor suck in water.. thanks guys! awesome pictures, I hope to have my own sometime

Ok... Ok... I gota say something.

If the grooves in the tread of your tires are clean... I mean clean and black... or you can tell your tire has barely turned a full revolution since turning off the black top... you ain't off roading.

If your rims are clean... sparkly clean... you ain't off roading.

If you take a picture of a bike pointing down a endless dirt road... and it is spotless... it screams FAKE.

I'm not calling out any of the "recent" post, but come on guys... it's called

Let's see your GS off road. NOT. Lets see your GS pulled off to the side of the road.

I don't post here too often anymore, but check out this video about 1/3 of the way through. I think you'll like the GSA content.
