Something to consider when taking the big GS offroad, maybe a KTM would be more appropiate?
It's not the bike, it's the rider. Yours Truly:

It didn't go anywhere but it was still fun!

Another outing (NWBoarder - Goes Submarining )

And, sometimes things just don't go as planned.

It's all fun though!

two questions

At what point do you think you might want to put that TKC on? Holy Milk wagons Bat Man its sandy, rocky, snow, etc but your running a tourance with a TKC hung over the pannier.

Second where is the ride report on this Round the World bring every thing we have room on the bike ride?

Thats sarcasm very nice pics, I too want to make it to Mongolia some day. Two thumbs up!

Woah.

This thread teems with hard-effing-core.

The deep-sand pix make me hyperventilate just looking at 'em.

I don't get it

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I don't understand why you anyone would rip up there bike like that by going down a river gravel bed and continually laying it down. It couldn't have been any fun. I've gotten myself caught in bad situations before because of my own foolish decisions but I wouldn't show pics to the world showing what a fool I was.

I really should delete this post but man I just can't help shouting, "Man, THAT'S STUPID"

No disrespect taken.

It cost me all of $15 to replace the aux. light bracket. Absolutely no new dents or scratches to any of the panels on the bike. The crash bars were barely marked up in fact. I wouldn't say i ripped up the bike. The GSA was simply in its element.

And yes, it was fun for the rider too!

Hi, metzeler tourance are great tires I took TKS for spare just in case, later I had a blow out on the front tire so TKC came handy.WE did aprox 12000 miles from Poland to China, tourance rear tire hold up ok,some bad road here and there TKC will help, but to lazy to change.

It was my first adventure trip so I took too much staff and parts inc drive shaft, fuel pump, injectors, twin max, hall sensor, spark plugs wires, clymer repair manual,1100gs had 65xxxx km run like champ, did not use any parts accept front tire.Did some welding on sub frame in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

but that is normal when you over load 11xxgs.
