Eddie,
Good to see ya today. Sorry the gear didn't fit. Looks like a great ride. Let's hit that ummm secret trail going from here to "there".

Looks like you all had a great time but I have to ask where is the pic of the Barmaid?

Great rr! But statements like this: " It is hard not to have fun on this part of the TWAT." had me a bit confused.

AJAYHAWKFAN,
Great ride report. I am planning this trip for mid June and have 4 days to get there and back. Was curious if you had a mileage breakdown day by day and how many hours did you ride each day? I am having some concerns about pulling this off in 4 days, I want to enjoy it. I am also riding an R1200GSA...anything you would or wouldn't do again (equipment, packing, supplies, etc)?? Thanks Mike

4 days should not be a problem. We road about 200 miles the first two days and the 3 day 50 miles. If we pushed it we could have done it in 2 full days.
The 1200 is big and heavy in the sand. The northern part of the trip has a lot of deep sand. Learn to enjoy it. Get comfortable in sand on the big pig before you go. You will enjoy the trip much more if you do.

Is any interested in doing this trail August 17-21 this year? I will be up there and looking for a place to ride. I'm riding a Ulysses so I might bypass some of the sand trails, but I figured it would be safer to have a buddy to ride with. I would do hotels and not camping btw.
