I didn't ask the owner, but if I were guessing I'd say it's a filler cap & dipstick from a model with lower fairings...SP series maybe?

Or it could simply be happy. :)

Are those before and after shots of your bike?

If so, nicely done!

That is one of the things that drew me to Guzzi's too. I've had a few mid-seventies japanese bikes, and things just seem to -go- on them. Yet, my '76 850 runs great, starts great, and other than a rather weak charging system, works fantastically. The sheer thought of getting that many miles out of any vehicle just blows my mind.

Tyll, check out MG Cycle (http://www.mgcycle.com). LOTS of parts, and almost all of them are new. Great guys too. I get pretty much all my parts from them.

The CX100 also has the same side panels as the SP--hence the BIG A$$ dipstick. how many CX100's have you seen with the original body work?--zero--thats right.

I had the only other CX100 (lemans 2 for US market). there were zero lemans 1's and a handful of 3's and 4's. I didnt enter the show--i was out riding and getting her dirty

The Choice bike I think might be John's bike. If it is the cat I am thinking of, he is a serious mile-hound. he will show up at a shindig, crash for the night, and then disappear only to appear at some other shindig a whole assload of states away. It's like he has a wormhole generator or does some sort of trance dreamtime riding.

Terrible old photo I know but ......1982, LeMans 111 is new, mates S3 is 8 years old and we still own 'em both

and while I'm at it , also from the same era a couple of mate come visiting '76 LeMans and an 82 900SS

Finally an interesting group of us at Symons Plains one day in '83 , you'll spot a Mk1, & 2 an RGS Lav a 450 Duc a 600Pantah etc etc...

Not bling but the originals instead

(the MGB was a '68)

Yeah, but it's a heavy mix of years. Late 73 Eldo engine and 4LS front end, much earlier carbs and the foot controls are early Ambo right shifter/left brake, possibly a 4-speed and not an Eldo 5-speed. And the frame looks like early model civilian with the back end from the front seat tabs on back very modified. The whole intake setup is gorgeous.

Stumbled across these recently...they've been gathering dust for a long time and looks like they will continue to do so.....(I think a Ducati was hiding under the sheet and a 55 Zundapp in the wings)

This collector had numerous "projects" which aren't progressing....just collecting dust and getting older...

My (old) v50 racer

This beauty was my first race bike. v50 with a Ducati 500 GTL front end. I raced it in the SE with WERA and in the Mid-Atlantic with CCS. Not ever as fast as Mike Tiberio's, but it still was good fun and a great learner. I actually ran it at Daytona during the CCS Race of Champions, waaay to undergeared for that track. Wish I still had it but I got the two-stroke bug and sold it for a reverse cylinder TZ.
