The Tiberio (Tibejara) Remembrance Thread

Hey guys, I regret to inform you of the recent death of Tiberio Jaramillo (tibejara on this site). He died of a heart attack in his home near Medellin, Colombia at age 60. I had the good fortune to meet Tiberio when my bike broke down near Cartagena, Colombia. After inquiring about my problem on Advrider Tiberio offered his assistance and ended up driving 450 miles from Medellin to come get me and take me back to his shop.

Tiberio helped dozens of foreign riders like this. He had a great spirit and was a great motorcycle ambassador for Colombia. His English was perfect from having completed university in Wisconsin and later having lived in Washington for a few years.

If you have a story about Tiberio or just nice riding photos of Colombia then please post them.

This is sad news

I am shocked to read this! I was just in Colombia and talked to Tiby about 2 months ago. The motorcycle world has lost a truly great person. He was not only an experienced rider but also a true gentleman willing to help any motorcyclist. RIP brother.

I never met Tiberio, but his reputation in the motorcycle world was stellar. I'm real sorry to hear this.

RIP Tiberio

Cry What a Guy!!!!

I never met the man or even know who he was . But I did read about his advice on HU without noticing the name of the person who wrote it. And I tell you this, what I read was enough to decide to make the trip to Colombia in Nov...That goes to show the man has reall y made a big impact on Colombia and the advriders worldwide. Let's all be gratful for what Mr. Jaramillo has left us and take that trip to the wonderful Country of Colombia!!!

Ride safe,

Greg

P.S. Let's all hope for more great people like him!!!

Ah, he's a neighbor of mine. Doesn't come here much anymore. I'll let him know if I see him.

It sounds like Tiby lived and conveyed the true spirit of the ADV community, lending a hand to his fellow riders. What a loss and at such a young age.

RIP Tiberio

I will miss Tibby

Tiberio worked for me when I was at San Jose BMW. With his recent death and the death of Tim Johnson in a motorcycle accident last week, I'm reminded of how fragile life is. Tibby was a great pleasure to work with and so passionate about the sport that he made me want to ride more. I will miss him.

I have heard of this man -- many tales of generosity and good will.

Godspeed, caballero.

Tiby worked at my local BMW dealership for a time, and never failed to make my children laugh. What a loss.

Godspeed Tiby
