One of the best ride reports ever!!

Let's be honest...the majority of reports on the Advrider site are...well, lacking in real adventure riding. Don't get me wrong, some are really good, but stories about people trailering their Harley's to Alaska do nothing for me.

For some reason, the majority of ride reports out of Australia are excellent and this one is what REAL ADVENTURE RIDING should be about.

The photos, commentary and areas you guys are travelling are so good, that I (like many other readers) are hoping it doesn't end.

I live in beautiful Colorado USA, but the photos coming out of the Aussie reports are spectacular.

Keep up the good work!!!

Ride safe!

DR650's so popular in Australia

Bikerooter,

I see lots of DR650's in many RR's from Australia. I own both the DR650 and a DRZ400E.

I like both, but seem to end up riding the DR650 more often and find it will do most things really well from highway to challenging mountain passes.

My question is why is the DR650 so popular in Australia and with the big Safari tanks, are you guys changing out the fork and shock springs?

Also, are you having any overheating problems in the desert heat and slow speed deep sand?
