Down in the valley.
In this crappy movie, at 1:39 there is a sign.... telling Source du Var.
Here it is ! the origin !
Funny thing is that I didn't know what I was filming.
But when I showed to my friend the movie he told me: " hold on. rewind a little. slow. stop. here, see the signpost ?"
so here it was !

So from there, it was easy to reach Nice. Just follow the river.

Still following the river, I entered the valley of Daluis.
Just entering, I saw a signpost telling "17 tunnels".
I was wondering why.....

Let me tell you,...the south of France is a JEWEL!! Go there.

I could spend the rest of my days there and not get bored.

Thanks for the nice pictures.
You're too lucky to have always such nice weather.
We, in Paris area, have had a very bad summer, cold and rainy.
Not good for rides.
Too bad I'm too much far away from Var to ride there each weekends !

I must say that this period of year is the best to ride in the area.
First the weather is still great. And the temperature is not too high.
Second the tourist wave is more or less gone. So we're able to appreciate the place.
September is as May or June, one of the best month to ride.

Knobbies from Roma when I was riding with Mr K ;)
you never know where he will want to take a picture !

And the helmet.... I like it. Light and a lot of air. Perfect during summer.

Don't let the look make you think I know what I'm doing !

No.
Lac de St Croix water came from the river Verdon which start is on the other side.
The picture is taken just after the Col de la Cayolle.
The Col on the west is Le Col D'allos. Here starts the Verdon.
The pond u can see on the picture of the start of the river Var which ends just west of Nice.
