To Stagehand...

No, no offense taken.

To others: somebody named Slumbum? Snobum? .... has been logging failures of the circlip-less transmissions. He asks for VIN and trans. serial number. Which reminds me I have to send him the trans serial number.....

TAT interests me and my g/f, a bunch.

My son Jean-Luc is 14 y/o now. There's not many more summer vacas he'll want to do with me, and that's OK - he's growing up.

But my g/f enjoys mellow dirt road trips. One of the best trips we had was a GS ramble around CO on the GS on Jeep trails, visiting Crystal and Lead King Basin, and the easy parts of Schofield Pass, Alpine Tunnel, Cumberland Pass, Tincup Pass..... just a lotta really cool stuff.

I figured that with a GPS and a willingness to go on pavement when the going is just too much for a GS 2-up, it would still be a great time.

For the TAT, I'd finally buy a GPS with maps.... have learned from doing bits of the Lincoln Highway and all of Route 66 that navigating with paper maps when all the signs have been gone for decades kinda sucks.

Wait a dang minute,... I'm I hearing a G/S TAT ride "when the kids are out"??
I've got 3 years left on the last one. Once he's "out" anything is game. TAT right on through to Patagonia as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, if you ever get this thread back on course and finish that G/S!

But by the time we're finally free to go on a trip, you'll have littluns in diapers.
