Is Wiskey Creek as good as Chandler Hill? New to GLDS and wondered which one would be better for a 990A?

Both events will have ADV routes available for the bigger bikes.

The normal routes probably would be about the same---if not a little harder at Chandler Hill. More elevation change there. And also I wouldn't ride the optional sections. Plus it depends on how comfortable you are with the occasional sandy section.

Havnt been at teh dirt on a bike this size for long, 1 year to be exact, dont mind the sand as long as speeds are not crazy. Should probably change the rear tire before riding to either of these though i guess. Any sugestions on how agressive a tire i should go to? Thanks for the help and like the puking pumpkin.

If my cousin rides along I would be riding both, its a compitition at that point if you know what i mean. My wife says apart we are pretty smart guys but when we get together there isnt a brain cell to be found for miles!

Chandler is better on my schedule so will have to sorce some sand tires i guess?

I find it easier to ride on sand when I go faster... there's kind of a "sweet spot" that I find both with body position (standing) and steady throttle. I've always thought you should sit back and gun it while riding on sand but that makes my front-end very unstable. But then again, I'm talking about a WR and you're talking about a big, heavy bike, therefore I might be full of shit .

Ill try most anything once, there are a bunch of sand single track trails by my warehouse that when i feel angry at myslef i run thru, cant get a lot of speed in the trees but would try your idea in more open setting.

That's Bigtrailie's technique.

His front end (and his back end . .) is very unstable indeed.

I guess I'll take that as a compliment??? Stability was never my strong suit.

I was talking to JRobertson last summer about 990 tires. I think he had a good handle on what works and fits. Maybe he'll throw us a word or two on the subject.

my 150 TKC is pretty much vaporizing..

I like the 908, and look forward to trying a terraflex.

A couple weeks ago, I found a 140 series sand paddle too..

There is a video of a 990A running a paddle tire and drag racing it in the desert. Might be a little much for michigan?
My Scorps are almost toast so will probably buy another rear but like the BooB tire too.
