So why did this happen? Any chance of boosting my post number back up to 300 at least. I think I had 500 something.

Whaaaat ?

The post count reset is a bonus. What's desirable about a higher post count ?

Hey Bruno what do you think about long distance touring on this bike (i.e. lots of slab time to get out in the middle of nowhere)? Do you know what the fuel range is? My interest is peaked...

By the way since this is my first post please excuse me if this has been answered before, I tried the search function but came up with nothing.

I don't know whether that's good or bad, it just looked odd to me.

It didn't feel any heavier than my 640 Adventure and the seat/riding position is very nice. Also, the exhaust note is very sweet. It has a raspy bark to it.

I'm starting to get excited about this new bike . .

people are more trusting if you are not a noob, like when you post in the Flea market area.

Just think, people won't look at your 5 gazillion posts and think "that guy has way to much time on his hands".

That's unfortunate. Being a noob says nothing about one's integrity or finances.

I don't know what this bike will be like on a long road trip. I'm curious as well. The fuel tank capacity is 4.2 Gallons. I think BMW is claiming 55 MPG, so that's about a 230 mile range.

I think the motor will be very smooth and the seat felt comfortable to me (it's hard to tell from just a quick sitting . .). I didn't sit on the pillion seat so i don't know what that feels like.

The BMW panniers will be nice, conducive to long distance riding. The riding position seemed good.

The things that concern me are wind/weather protection, passenger comfort, and fuel range.

It would be awesome if this bike was as good as my 640 Adventure off-road and came close to my 1200 Adventure on-road.

I'm probably dreaming though . .

Must've been one hell of a party

I leave town for a couple of weeks and you guys blow up our thread?!

That's a big, big bummer.

I had bookmarked a lot of Josh's insurance info.

And many of the riding areas we discussed.

Well, if it's of any consolation, I have a two new ride reports to share:

One Domestic:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=380717

One Southern:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=380521

enjoy
