So if the matrix gets fixed, and the old Detroit?...greetings thread is found and re-enabled and Kwame escapes from prison, will we talk on it or live on the new younger and more shinny thread. Post Kwame style?

Hello to all of the new people who have showed up to restart the Detroit riders thread. Maybe after the MotoGP weekend we can have a ride. I'll be in St. Helens this weekend for some sand abuse.

So should we plan to have another ride on Sept. 21st?

Then we can ride to this event:

Suzi's ALL CLUBS DAY in Stockbridge, MI

Some of you long-time riders remember Suzi's bike parties N of Stockbridge... well, as of last year, a similar event is occurring right in "downtown" (one blinky light) Stockbridge, and it's organized by The Suzi herself!

Here's a good ride coming up September 27th;

In addition to the dual-sport route, there will be a big bike (GS, Strom, Etc.) 200 mile Adventure ride available.

As one who attended Suzi's legendary Spring and Fall gatherings at her house for years, I am excited to check in on this one. This is what her parties were originally about before they simply got to be too darn large - a celebration of Classic bikes. Not only but including a good collection of Nortons.

See ya there?

Thanks Jonathan.

Good counsel there. My route actually goes through Buckhannon!

I was thinking about riding down Thursday nite after work so I could be there for practice but I might be down for caravanning down. Are you riding motorbikes or driving? What time? What route are you planning on taking?

And now for something completly different.

I ask the Detroit area folks who have done this before.

Am I insane to think I can make it in one day from Detroit down to the north end of the BRP if I stay off the slab once I am on the other side of Toledo? I'm thinking, no problem!

I guess I am looking for a - yeah, I've done it - no sweat type of an answer rather than: "Well Doug, it depends on ..."

Anyone, Buehler?
D in the D,

You're obviously an experienced rider, so please take what I say as just one guy's opinion.

You're running out of daylight this time of year. And I'm not sure I would want to start getting into the twisty stuff when it's dark and possibly rainy. Especially after having just ridden all the way from the D.

Goose, PsycleGirl, The Commander and I did that trip in the spring. We stopped at Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water on the way down. So we didn't get to the BRP in the first day. But if you scrubbed that section of our route and headed straight for W.VA., like JP says, you should make it.

Obviously slab sucks. But if you really want to make it in the clear. Start the secondary roads when you get west of Columbus. Take it from a guy who's made three recent attempts at finding interesting roads in western OH: I pretty much give up. It's mostly flat corn land. Just blast through to Columbus and get it over with.

If you're interested, here's a link to our report:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343399

Shoot a PM to Goose or Psycle Girl if you want better advice on exact roads.
