Since it has header wrap it could be listed as a mad max rat bike. It will sell for sure. Ill trade you a few vintage chainsaws for it.

Make sure you put "bobber" in the title. That seems to increase the value.

"Bobber" is preferred over "project"

True. "Cafe" also raises the value by at least $500.

Ran when I parked it so I'm sure it is something simple and cheap to fix. Could be the muffler bearing....

Michigan Tag question?

Hey Guys,

I was at Holiday Powersports in Michigan Center today and they had a bunch of new 2013 models on the floor. I spoke with the salesman and about a KTM 300XC-W. Nice light bike with plenty of power. He was telling me that they had already sold one with a dual sport kit on it and the owner was able to get it tagged. I was looking at the 350EXC as it comes already tagged, but always wanted another 2 stroke. Do you think this salesman was correct about being able to plate a 2 stroke bike in Michigan? It it possible? Thanks in advance for any replies....

Likely what happened here is that the dealer installed the 'dual sport kit' and then the purchaser had to have it inspected for DOT compliance and then was able to register it. Michigan makes it easy to register off road titled bikes as long as they comply with MDOT requirements.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply fastdadio & two trackin. I have been looking for a lighter bike for the trails, more of a dirt bike with a tag. I have been looking at the KTM 500 & 350 EXCs, but now have added the XC 300/250Ws to the list. So many choices......

Welcome to Michigan. Ever had a plated and legal 2-stroker? I think everyone should and least once in life. Like the Ghoul used to say "do it while you can, but don't get caught." Subject to change without notice.

Lots of guys dual sport plated 2 smokes, i prefer a 4 stroke for that purpose.

I rode Steve's 2012 350 XC-W a few weeks ago and was impressed with how nice it is. It really felt like it had the agility of a 2 smoke and the power was very good too. I liked it.

That's another bike on my short list as I would like to keep it in the 250 lbs and less range. You riding this weekend? I go back on call on Saturday, but could probably get out for a few hours.
