Around 1955 I lived in The San Fernando Valley.
I had a 1954 Vellocette 21" single. I used to ride out to crater camp and Race. I didn't have money for entry so I wold pull off into the surrounding bushes and remove my Head light, license plate, and license plate. Attach a paper plate with a number on it. As a race would come bye I would jump in and race with the rest of the bikes. When we got the white flage I would go off track and wait for the next race. Never got caught. HaHa. Corky

My dad used to talk about racing at Crater Camp. Now it's just a street with some really expensive houses on it.
