For the average rider, it doesn't seem like a smart upgrade unless you're 100% onroad.

Just my 2 cents.
You're true, it's less safer than the stock setup. But I'm thinking about modifying the TT bashplate to protect the pipe. The luggage frame will protect also. I hope so

That will do it. Mine is protected with a modified Black Dog Plate, and the saddle bag mounts. I'm also working on a centre-stand skid plate that will cover the gap under the swingarm. Overall, with this set-up, pipe damage is reduced to a non-issue, even for serious off-roading..

It looks like it would be much easyier to pull the sub-frame, and realign the cans to the header pipe. Spare gas on the other side? Humm...

I really like the look of this system, I just know I would bash it up in about 2 hours riding here in Arizona....

Bashplate to go with this system.......

As has been noted in this thread, adventure-spec are selling these pipes.
We bought a 990 adventure this week and will start work on a 4mm aluminium bashplate to work with this setup.
Probably take a month or two to get ready for production.
If anyone wants to buy a pipe and guard, PM me and i'll send you a coupon for our webshop that will beat any other price on the pipes, good deals for ADVers! Also we can supply VAT free to US (less 17.5% tax).
Hope this helps!
