Power Thursday

Headed out tonight with the wife on back.
Finally found it after driving by it and thinking...Wonder if thats it.
Asked a friendly walker if they new where to find ET.
She said take a right and its on your left.

This is what we found:

(sorry for the blurry photos, E.T was ahhh....)

Walking up the road we found this:

MJ has not passed, he is chilling on E.T's flying saucer.
Its all a hoax they told us.

The glowing finger, if you have to ask you cant have it.

Tag is now held hostage.....

The MA tag is still sitting. Because I figured that KLR boy was holding the NH tag hostage, I even put it someplace not too far from you Mel Thompsonites - I was going to put it at the Franklin Park Zoo. I didn't realize he'd do it twice, but there you are.

The new tag will be up tonight when I get home from work.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I'm not intentionally trying to piss anyone off.
Life is busy, hope you can understand.

Next time, think about something/somewhere you can use for a new tag before you go out to snag the current one. Take a picture of your new tag on the same ride you make to photograph the current tag. Post one right after another when you get home (or wherever you can upload from). No delays that way.

Maine rules?

I like the addition of rule #6 in the Maine TOR:

Why bother? Half the weekend is gone by then.

+1 on Squidmarks' comment. Have the next tag in your back pocket when you grab the old tag.

We all know there are legit reasons that may delay the posting of the new tag. But, how many times has the weather been great and the tag has been gotten but the new tag has yet to be posted. There is no cash prize, it's all about riding and having fun doing it. So, there will always be a reason to ride on this thread.

I like the 48-hour rule better (or even a 24-hour rule). The "stealing" method encourages you to keep the new tag very close to the old one. In RI, that's probably not really an issue either way, but in the "larger" (all westerners laugh uncontrollably here...) northern New England states, it's nice to have variety on placement. I'm not generally in favor of more rules, but I do agree that it kinda kills the fun of the game when it takes three days for a new tag to go up.

Kripes! If he took the time to take it anywhere 'far' in the state, when we got done yipping because it took so long we'd yip because it was too far.

Everyone here does realize their bikes still operate without a tag, right? Ri-i-g-h-t?

Yeah. I know...

Cool2 Executive Decision

In a completely unilateral move, I am amending the rules to state that new tags must be posted within 36hrs of claiming the existing tag.

In the event that the new tag is not posted within 36 hrs, the "claimed" tag again becomes the valid tag in play.
