The restored Adams Hall, location of the Niobe Statue and the Great Wall of Sandwich

This was an interesting and unusual tag. While researching the location I learned the story behind the tag, which made it all the more fun.

Whenever one is in Sandwich, it is always a good idea to run over the notch.

New tag

You can learn to ski jump here in the summer

There were some little grommets learning to fly there this morning

OLD TAG:

Took me a while to find this. Thought it was up on the mountain but it wasn't.

Drove through the parking lots looking for it but only found some dirt.

I just have to compare the photos.
Yours, today:

I'm going to share this over on the "Then & Now" picture thread.

Was going to go find some dirt tomorrow but found this gem on the way home. I was compelled to pull in and pay my respects when I passed by.

Nice job finding the old tag, even with the misdirection. A quick google shows it is in Waterville Valley, but it is at the little Snow's Mt area past the golf course, not at Mt Tecumseh, the main mountain.

Also, I've gotta say, very nice looking 5th gen Viffer. I've owned one just like it (a '98) that my son now owns and rides. They are such great bikes, though my 56 yo, 6'2" body doesn't enjoy the riding position as much anymore.

And welcome back to the area. Where were you when you were "away"?

Wish the kids were out jumping while I was there. Cell phones, gps and google maps made it relatively easy to correct my mistake. It was beautiful in WV, reminded me of living in Vail, CO. The 5th gen appreciates the compliments. At 6'1" and creeping on 40 I'm starting to understand what you mean about the riding position. I'm pretty sore today, but hoping it's due to lack of longer rides.

Thanks for the welcome back. I needed to update that sig. Came back to New England about a year and half ago. Guess I haven't been on adv rider much.

"HINT: If you don't recognize this place, click below."

Did not need a hint. Behind my bike in the Tag photo is Mom:
This section is for those who do not have remains here but do not have a headstone anyplace else. Mom was cremated and her ashes scattered in 1994.
On the other side of the cemetery is Dad:

Connections for me too at the NH Veteran's Cemetery.
Here is my son, part of the color guard at the 2011 Veteran's Day ceremony (he is an Iraq veteran, currently serving in Afghanistan). This is just beyond the flags in joburocks' 2nd photo.
Just behind my son is the resting place of my Dad (his grandfather); a WWII Navy vet.

joburocks and mpg_gw: Thanks for these tags!

And an obligatory dirt road warning. Theres lots of them around here. The maintained ones are in good shape. The others... pass at your own risk.
