I had to make a loop over to Lovell and Sweden on the way back from Cornish to take a photo of two friends, one of them is taking over the MGNOC (Moto Guzzi National Owners Club) duties from the other after sixteen years as Maine Rep... didn't know if I could get this one posted in time but we made it. What a gorgeous day for a blast... 250 miles before lunch... yeah...

Little history lesson today boys and girls....
This is the site of the First English settlement in New England. Not quite visible through the trees in this shot, the Fort across the Bay is seen below.... ![]() The _______ ________ was the first organized attempt to establish an English colony on the shores of what we now know as New England. It was planted at the mouth of the Kennebec River in the summer of 1607 and lasted for little over a year until it was abandoned in the fall of 1608. It was founded a few months later in the same year as its more successful rival, the Jamestown Settlement, which was established on June 14, 1607 by the Virginia Company of London in present-day James City County, Virginia, as the first permanent English settlement in the present United States. Hint... ![]() This is Fort________ that can be seen from across the Bay from the site of the settlement, built much later to protect the ship building activity on the river. I am standing on the site of the __________ ________ looking across the bay toward Fort _________ ![]() All right, you should not need more than that but if you do, lemme know.... Rob

Got it!
I'm playing hookey for the next few days, ran onto a lad on a Harley, he's murdercycles.com, and was collecting state parks for a similar scavenger hunt. ![]() The Fort at Popham, near Spinney's Restaurant, if you're hungry ![]() and the Popham Colony site. Prepare yourselves, tomorrow brings the NEW goal....

Okay, YFF, fuel up your beasts for an intergalactic journey!
My namesake, Titania, is not only the Faerie Queen from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Titania is also the third moon circling Uranus. I felt the irresistible gravitational pull of that planet today, and documented my orbit for you. We now move from HISTORY to ASTRONOMY all within the borders of the State Ptomaine. Tag, you're it! ![]() ![]() A gentle hint, if you earthlings are not familiar with this project: http://www.umpi.maine.edu/info/nmms/solar/
