(it's about 420 miles / 8 hours or so for me to just get there, so it's doubtful I'll go for it. Maybe that was the point?)

Yup, I believe in playing fair and not being a hog... as much as I would like to be, give others a shot at once in a bit.

It's only 500 miles round trip but this weekend is not as free as last weekend was.... This is where the whining begins...

Tomorrow AM is the best time slot but that is questionable as to whether there is enough time as I have other obligations later that day. Sunday is out, going to see/hear Stomp at the Merrill. Monday perhaps if no one has snagged it.

Have fun at the Black River Races....

No worries, mate, Titania has an ace up her sleeve....
We'll give this a short time to proceed, then a kickstart.

I goin' in...

All right, leave this alone...

I'm heading out in the morning to get this...

Combine the trek with a foliage ride for photos. That area is at about 4-5 out of 7 so it is not peak but going to be pretty... lots of water along the way, rivers and lakes to get some nice reflection shots and all that.

So, if you are heading out for this too, meet me there.... We'll go for coffee and fight about who gets to post it...

207/350-0386.. that is IF there is cell service up there...
Ciao,
Rob

Got it.... Took a 500 hundred mile blast up to "The County" today....

Found another Moon around Uranus...

I thought it might be a great way to combine a Leaf Peepin' ride with the Tag but the colors have not changed that much from the coast up to The County... I followed the river thinking that it might be really nice but it needs another week or so, or cold nights...

Ciao for now...

New Tag...

I thought getting the Bridgewater Tag might have been a great way to get a Leaf Peepin' ride in but the colors have not changed that much from the coast up to The County...

I followed the ____________ river thinking that it might be really nice but it needs another week or so, or cold nights.

Came back via __________ and over the new bridge...

This is the New Tag.

The first and only cable-stay bridge in Maine and the only with an observatory in North and South America, one of only three such bridges in the entire World, the other two are in Thailand and Slovakia...
The observatory soars 42 stories above the __________ river.

Extra credit for naming the Fort on the "Mainland" the shore also.

This weekend I think the Western Hills will be a good bet for leaf peepin'...

Ciao for now... and good luck...

Nice tag, been across that bridge many times on my trips to Bar Harbour. I have a friend who's wife is terrified on that bridge, hides her face in his back so she can't see how high it is.

Sounds like you had a good ride to the county even though there wasn't much color yet.

Thanks for bringing the tag back down state a bit. Wish I had time to go get it but work calls and I am heading twords the Carrabassett Valley this weekend to do some leaf peepin.

My Wife does the same thing while I am looking around...

We crossed the bridge to and from Sault Ste Marie and she hated that... Not real high just high enough.

So, yeah the tag should be attainable by more folks now, season is getting shorter up here...
Yesterday was a great day to be on the road, clear the head, little traffic.. nice.

Thanks Titania...

My Son lives up in the Carrabasset Valley, he reports that it is peek or nearly and this weekend will be gorgeous.

In order:
Yes, in the county. It was a terrific ride, 76 degrees and sunny, why would I not go?
And no, it was a fresh pic last Thursday after I scored Popham last Wednesday.

And that was my ace in the hole, Fred was also along, and took a pic of HIS bike in case the
tag-o-rama languished unclaimed.
After a decent interval, he was going to claim the tag and then select a new target more southerly.
Forgive me for my lack of faith, I knew you FFs would rise to the challenge!

Excellent selection for the new tag, Rad!
