KTM 625 SXC for Dual Sport?

I'm looking at retiring my Husaberg FE501E which I now use for dual sport, I'm on the fence about replacing it with another "450" size bike or try stepping up to a slightly bigger "650".

Any opinions on the KTM 625 SXC? It seems like the most dirtworthy of the bunch along side the Honda XR650.

I had an older KTM620SC that had been plated, laugh a minute! Never got a ticket on it but it would haul ass on fireroads, kind of big feeling on singletrack and vibrated on long road rides quite badly. 40mpg with the dellorto carb and made good power.(some of them blow up but mine never had a problem)

Did you get a chance to look in the LC4 index yet? There are a few SXC threads in there, and I believe some of them address your question.

There is nothing wrong with SXC or 450 EXC as a Dual Sport bike. It going to depend on your area, what type of terrain and how "you" like to ride the most.

The bigger/heaver LC4 and the XR650R or more friendly to open area type riding. You will not be throwing them around like a lighter weight bike.

Have you thought about the 525/530 EXC.
