Just a thought
Has anyone thought of establishing a working relationship with the guy who strips the threads? Some shops probably won't work with you but give it a try. I just had my hair cut at one of those walk in places and they track requests. Find out who the good mechanic is and request him or her each time you take your bike in and give them a tip. You tip the person who delivers your food at a restaurant so why not tip the person who has your life in their hands. From my experience working in shops I tended to take extra care of the people who gave me tips.

Florida Sand Flea Inbound
How-doo
Have to fly in to Bozeman Saturday night to take care of some bidness. Delta insists I cannot check the SE...bastidges. I was last in the Bo-zone when they still farmed on the west side of town....I heered that the flatlanders have built the place up quite a bit. Where's a decent place to get a late night eats nowadays? Damn, I wish I had time to ride. Outbound on Tuesday.

I met Putts last week at his business. What a nice guy! plus he has some beautiful young ladies working for him
. Since our riding season is over, or some decide to stub up the little bikes, we will have to start watching the moto races at a local pub. I know Bozomoto will be down and should inform us on the races.

Ride Plan for 11/23 weather permitting
doods,
The weather seems to keep holding out against bad winter conditions, so I am continuing to ride. Today I meandered over towards Whitehall, and shortly after picked up a fencing staple in my rear tire. Doh! ![]() So I got a ride and left my bike over there, and will pick it up in the AM. Anyway, I think i found a killer loop from Bozeman that is almost all dirt that I want to try and do next weekend on Sunday weather permitting. The Lombard-Ringling Dirty Loop It takes a minute to load on Gmaps but you can check it out. I think the direction should be clockwise. This will permit easier bailout if we get bagged after Toston. You will need gas range of about 120 miles from Toston all the way back to Bz. I have no idea of the snow level up there in the mtns but the road looks to be under 7000 ft. at the highest. May be an issue I guess. I rode up to Clarkston two weeks ago and the road ends at a gate that I think we can go through, as it remains county road, and then pop out in Lombard and then go up to Toston. Has anyone else been up there? I have not ridden the route between Toston and Ringling, except on the highway. It would be badass if this route works out, damn near 190 miles of dirt at once! Let me know if yer interested, It'll probably snow a bunch now that I have made a sweet plan...

I'm interested, you FF's got room for some yahoo from Helena? I might even invite myself to come down Saturday night and crash at Chez Putts if that's ok with him. Keep me updated. I could meet you in Toston too, but I do want to see the resort town of Lombard, so that prompts me to do the whole thing.

I think I should be able to go, BTW. Not if we camp though ... just getting too old for that kind of thing this late in the year, or "Are you nucking futz!?"
