I can see an 80hp future... (Insert evil laugh here)

Nice work Squilly How many miles on this engine? Any idea on what you're going to do with it? Been looking at the Hordpower site, or have you got other plans in mind?

Cheers,

Dan.

Gday Jim. The DRZ's a good choice for out there. See you at DQB.
Hey Farcall,
It's a good idea nonetheless! Maybe we could meet you at the Flinders around the 9th May (after being at Big Red on the 6th). Not sure if it would work out, but certainly worthy of a bit more discussion. When were you planning on being at the Flinders?

JimKat,
No worries man, been good having you around on this thread. Take care & drop in from time to time eh?

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi fellows,

My Transalp 2006, 63,000kms is going on sale on the web in 10 days.

If you know anyone looking for a neat Tranny in excellent condition, please let me know.

Regards,

Thomas

Great! 2500kms from Perth to Marree via transcon track & Ceduna; leaving Perth 4 May, so 9th (or even 8th) at Maree is do-able. Should this be a new thread or keep it here? Don't think there'll need to be many posts on the subject.

Cheers,

Dan.

My current engine has 1mm oversize JE pistons with bigger vavles, etc.and is making upwards of 70hp. That worked really well, so I'm thinking of:
  1. doing a roller-crank coversion (in fact, I have an extra crankcase that's with the engineering works at the moment for the feasibility assessment)
  2. 2mm oversize JE high-compressy pistons
  3. bigger vavles
  4. gasflow and polish
I think the motor's got around 60kkm on it, but it's come from a 'burnt' bike, so there is a bit of damage on the rear- nothing too bad, e.g. the oil seals are still intact, but damaged abut the external wiring is fried. Nice surprise was the carbies I found in the crate. Didn't know I was getting them too

Squily, I'd like a set of pistons if your getting some custom made

Custom made? Ouch, that's not good news- haven;t looked into t, but was hoping they'd have some ready to go, but I'll let you know in the new year after I've made some inquiries from them. I guess I'll ask them for same as 1mm, but just 2mm oversize as they should have the rest handy.

I'm still a bit worried about the crankcase- read somewhere that you need some machining of the crankcase to make the 2mm pistons fit.

It's on it's way up from Melbourne to Brisbane. I can't wait to ride it when I get back from my trip around Oz!
So does anyone know how many Africa Twins are in Oz?

Did this one had a crash? Just asking because it was never sold 1993 in this color combination so I am just guesssing that all plastic parts are new.

Or it is one from 1994?:

Its a 94 or 95 Model Depending on the VIN.

RD07s started at 1993 and went through to 97

RD07A went from 97 to 2003.

Could be a 1994 model but no crash, one owner from Germany.

Most Jap bikes are plated the year before the model is released. So it's most likely a 1994 model plated 1993. I'll have to check the VIN when it's in my possession.
