A few other shots from there.
This actually would be a nice ride destination if you planned it for all the small back roads to get here and avoid the 301, 64, I-95, 264 stuff. I have mentally marked it as a good 180 mile day ride with a BBQ lunch in Wilson. GREAT PICK Gypsy!!!!

New Tag

OK... this is about 23 miles due south of my house. It is one of those real secret Governmental Defense communication places that is known about. About all there is to see here you see from this spot as it is underground and was built to withstand a nuclear hit. The road it is on is named for what it is called locally. Look it up.. do some creative searches. AND

I am sure if I was not known in the security databases of our Government for the company I keep, I am now as well as ADVrider. I did catch one camera moving to me/the bike as I was taking the pictures. There is another one directly behind me just to catch tags of vehicles and such.

Ride Safe.

Actually, those street signs were already down, but I did stand there deliberately to block the information. Now we can load our other pictures to smugmug...didn't want you guys cheatin'.

More info on Vollis Simpson: The man is 89 years old and still working on these treasures. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/814?offset=0

It had been almost 5 years since Moterbiker and I were there last and we were afraid the man was gone. Things are a bit more in disrepair, so I was glad to read the 12/6/08 entry on the above noted website.

Found it! Hmm, 213 miles away by the shortest route... No chance I'd get it, it'll be gone tomorrow since it's supposed to be nice.

Cool tag! Never heard of it before.

Only 200 miles away, as the crow flies. I don't think I'll try to jump into the game with this one. I'll wait for it to head west again.

Well thank you. I still haven't figure out where the previous tag was?
Of course it doesn't make any difference as I really need a new chain and rear tire before I do any long distance riding.

Looks like I may not be the only one who needs a rear tire BTW...

I am pretty sure I know where that is, however I am not sure I want to be taking photos in the area...

Lets see if I am right or not.

I didn't have any problem taking the few pictures I did. It is at the edge of the compound. However, I KNOW that I didn't go unnoticed... and there have been these Tahoes with darkened out windows cruising my road tonight... (kidding..... I think)

As long as you remember who you are tomorrow you are in the clear. Perhaps I should take the plate off and ride up there. Perhaps.
