Great tag there Aarrff. I've been there many times but I've never ridden across that particular slab of concrete. I was there about 10 years ago when they had one of the turbines opened up for an overhaul. First time since they were put in service. The project director told us that the main bearings hadn't seen the light of day since the generator had been put in service and he said they looked like they could go another 50 years. Now that's true American workmanship. He wasn't holding out a lot of hope that the new ones would fair as well. Now that is a sad commentary on our current state of craftsmanship in this modern age of economy over quality.

That's some interesting info! I need to stop and check out those visitor's centers more often when I get back out that way; however, I'm not makin' the 320 mile one-way ride this week! Nope, not gonna do it...not even with all that talk and tempting pics of great BBQ!

So the tag is 311 miles from where I'm at. That is almost 8 hours one way by Ural. Hmmmm.....the gears are turning.

I think the Sheriff might need to get the Edgcombe county park tag and then take it with me to Tanglewood park. That discrimination shit just pisses me off.

I'm seriously considering taking the Ural up to Tanglewood tomorrow. It'll be a slow ride, but the rest of the fleet is undergoing winter upgrades/maintenance already.

I just have to convince Misses Donkeys to come with me.

New Tag:

Since I'd been naughty at the dam, I wanted to see if my name was still on the 'nice' list.

Great Old-N-Slow ! I know a great dual sport route over the mountain to grab that tag. I could grab it tomorrow but I'm heading over to Wayehutta tomorrow. Should be an easy on for someone.

Easy Tag

And here I am stuck at work (not working, obviously, since I'm posting here). Whoever grabs it should definitely bring a bike with some suspension travel and take the back way up to the parkway from there. Enough leaves are down to have a great view the whole way up and those whoops are addictive

If anyone is worried about getting Bruced by me on this tag... You can take comfort in the knowledge that I'm cleaning two houses in preparation for the Holiday Wekend and probably won't be free to ride until tonight or tomorrow. Of course I could be fibbing...
