If this thing is still there next weekend, I might load up the dog and the tent for a rescue run on the Ural. I'm plotting as we speak.

In case you can't read the sign it says "NC Forest Service, DBR Shop, Stumpy Point NC"

DBR stands for Dare Bomb Range...if anyone was confused about that.

And for any dual sporters there are almost 43,000 acres of game lands that are publicly accessible in this area...sand and dirt (minimally maintained). Bring extra gas if you plan to go off-road (gas stations are few and far between in the vicinity of this tag).
And just a reminder, today marks the ten day anniversary of the drop.

I'm tempted to drive out there on the Suzuki and grab this one myself (It's an easy grab after dinner one night). Though, the way my travels have been lately, I can't guarantee that the next tag won't be even further away.

Doesn't get much more fun to ride than that part of the state. If I get it, it's heading further out into to this kind of terrain...

It's not much fun to send it to crappy places where nobody wants to ride....

It becomes a "spectator sport". Whatever, different strokes for different folks.

Believe or not there are fun times to be had on 2 wheels east of I-77 !!!

I want to ride there but finding the time right now is not going to happen. It is a 4.5 hour one way ride for me to get the current tag. As far as I am concerned there is no too far or too out of the way for the NC TOR. If it doesn't set until I have time to go get it someone will suit up and have a great ride acroos the NC countryside to claim the tag. If you have any sense of adventure at all you can find some fine unpaved and fun roads to ride in the tag area. I have even taken my road warrior ZR-7 on one of the connector roads between Hwy 64 and Hwy 264.

Well I hope you don't get it Flashback. No offense but that terrain looks like it would be quite warm in the summer. The first year of this game, the sand fleas played with it in the winter while the hillbillies had it for the summer. Tag really kept moving back then but we had more sand fleas. Now it seams like the costal tags just sit until someone mans up and rescues it. I'd love to head over there but time is the enemy. I'd have a real iron butt by the time I got back too. There's gotta be someone closer.

The piedmont guys control the game...The hillbillies & beachbums don't have the time to run 8 hours each way to grab a tag, unless it fits into their vacation time. We both need a break from our "paradise" occasionally, and have to endure the piedmont to get to the opposite "paradise". It's a great state!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I was stationed at Camp LeJeune for 6 yrs. I rode all over that part of the state with intentions of never returning on two wheels again! I hated every aspect of riding at the coast. From the sand on the road, the stench in the air to the heat. I can see how it is appealing to some, to me it is appalling. I can honestly say that if it was up to me to go get a tag on the coast, the game would be done.
From reading the older posts and from the time I have been playing this game it seems that the coast or east of I-95 is a dead zone. I thought this game was about riding as stated in the last line of rule #4. No, I am not Whining, just stating the fact.
I think the current tag is cool and has a lot to offer some, I just wish it was in an area where there was active players.
Thank You for reading my Friday Tirade.

Just a reminder to the Piedmont The NC-NC-TAR has set for most of a week
I personally like to see it move around the State. If someone finds a Tag interesting and when I get time, I'll go for it.

Riding near the coast doesn't seem to be bad for some. I'm not much of a distance rider yet but would live to be. Erik you can seem to find fun roads wherever you go;)
