Deployments suck, but every now and then something comes together that just makes it awesome. This weekend was that weekend for me.

I have a team that I needed to check in on. I snagged a flight, and after several hours, I found myself here:

I found my team living the good life in Qatar. Then I realized that I was in Doha on the weekend of the MotoGP race. I quickly got to scheming.

After a little bit of legwork, I got my hands on a few of these.

With passes in hand for the whole weekend, there was no way I was going to just hit the race. So I split up the tickets and took my half my team out each day. The non-riders went Saturday for the qualifying. The riders went Sunday for the race. Both days were pretty much the same.

We'd start at the Museum of Islamic Art. This is by far one of my favorite museums. For a low entry price of FREE, you can see some amazing history, up close and personal.

The building is built on a man-made peninsula overlooking the Gulf and the Doha skyline. My camera phone just doesn't do it justice.

Inside, I found a lot of centuries old tile work that I loved. A lot of labor went into make this, and it shows. Most of it from around 1200AD. Once again, the phone just couldn't capture the vibrant colors and texture.

We found some jewelry for the ladies. We bartered hard, but they just wouldn't accept our offers.

When the jewelry shopping at the museum failed, I tried to get them to sell me a pet bird.

And when that failed, I went for the board game pieces.

They just didn't want to sell me anything. Oh well, we had a race to catch.

When the sun went down, we found ourselves under the lights here.

Losail was kind of empty. Bad for MotoGP, great for us! There were lots of bikes on display, and even test rides in the parking lot for the chosen few.

There were Triumphs.

There were Katooms.

There were lots of Ducatis. I fell in love with this one.

But only because it said this.

I was disappointed to find out that Diesel is a designer, not the fuel type.

But Ducati made it up to me. They let me ride this.

I've now had two rides on the Diavel, and I must say, I LOVE that bike! If I didn't have a deep found respect for my bank account, I would buy one today. It may not be pretty, and it may defy classification, but it is one sweet ride.

After we had enough with the bikes, we hit the club to check out the scene. There was a dance-off happening. This guy was good. Click for video.

And finally we settled into the track.

When the race starts, the sounds and feeling are amazing. Click to play the videos.

Lorenzo didn't even give anyone else a chance. However, Rossi made an amazing charge from 7th to 2nd, even after getting pushed off the track at one point. That was the real race. When it was all over, we set out to get home and ended up having a nice chat with the owner of this.

And trust me, it sounded every bit as good as it looked.

All said and done, I had one hell of a weekend. To be considered "deployed" made it even more awesome. But now I'm two days behind schedule on work. Let's hope my boss isn't checking this thread.

Clue

It is a tough google find but with a HARDY search the area and the ROAD can be found.
If more clues needed...ask

Here is a true story that will help in the search.............
Trails sign located on the Yadkin River
This Plantation Site- While moving through the area April 1–2, Stoneman’s cavalry approached the home of where a Confederate Major had brought his friend. Colonel William Luffman of Spring Place, Georgia to recuperate from wounds. The Union soldiers found a fight when one rode into the yard astried Col. Luffman's horse. The Union soldier was killed, a skirmish erupted and the Major's mother, Elizabeth, saved the family home from being burned with a promise to give the fallen soldier a Christian Burial.

The tag would be very difficult to locate in the dark for night taggers. The grave site is located on this property, just out of the photo to the left of the picture below.
The marker is very difficult to see from the road.

Clue using google earth

Some clues on the position, GPS location using multiple positioning

Some intel on the home place of tag

I am just hoping that inmates are not "Stuck" on Google trying to decipher the clues instead of riding.

The only way you could make this easier is if you threw them on the back of the Buell and drove them to it.

Posting the grab for mmonce. It isn't Tapatalk, it is Dropbox that is your problem. It wouldn't let me post it in HTML format either, so I threw it on my Photobucket for you.

For some reason, the drop box link was not showing the picture when I put the IMG codes around it. I've never used drop box, but it just plain wouldn't work. Do you normally use drop box?

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...
