Hmmmm.. I don't think I have any file tags in Fayetteville, but I'll see if I have any that I've used in other games.

Current score:
Angier: 0
Siler City: 0
Fayetteville: 1

Are the hillbillies all hibernating now??? Haven't heard a peep out of anything on the far side of I-77 in a while.

What is that piece on the left side of the Versys between the forward frame rails? I have a 2011 Versys and don't have that black part on my bike.

In front of the engine cases? This?

Just a plastic piece, if I'm thinking of what you're describing. There's one on each side.

It's called COVER-EXHAUST PIPE, LH, F.BLACK on this page:

Ref #: 49107, part number: 49107-0081-6Z

I would say use the BRP file but I won't be within a few hundred miles of the Buell for a few more days

No, up by the top of the engine.

Mine:

On mine you can clearly see the top of the engine but yours has a big piece of black plastic there.

Interesting. I couldn't find it in the parts listing, but didn't go through every page. I looked at the pics in the shop manual and it doesn't exist there either. I wonder if it's a shipping thing that wasn't removed and I just never noticed. I pulled it off once to try to adjust some FI settings and just reinstalled it afterwards.

I'll dig through the parts listings tonight and if I can't find anything, it's coming off.

Odd.

If you put it Oklahoma, I'll bring it back to NC. Oh wait, wrong game. :(

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

I did a google image search for Versys. Not many pics of the left side but it is there on some and not there on others.

Like you said, odd.

It covers some FI components and if it doesn't block necessary airflow (doubt it), I may leave it on. It's on there securely. I'll try to stop by the dealer this week and see if there's anything worth discovering.

Here's the pic from the shop manual:

Ding, ding, ding... Found it.

I've got a California model. Not sure I like that idea and will be investigating further.
