That looks like a great spot to launch my kayak. It has been a long time since I have fished In that area.

I have a Native Ultimate 12 and love fishing new places. I also have access to a private lake here that allows no powered boats that is full of nice sized bass. It is perfect for kayaks. Let me know when you want to go.

I'm just jealous of the kayaks. I've wanted one for years, but have no clue where I would put it or when I could use it.

No shit, I woke up on a random Wednesday, decided I wanted a fishing kayak, hopped on craigslist and picked one up on the way home from work. Best impulse decision I've made in a long time. I magically found garage space and with no operating or maintenance costs it's as easy as throwing it in the back of the truck and picking a body of water. Great workout too. First time I paddled across Mott Lake and back I definitely felt it the next day.

I picked up a Future Beach 10 ft sit-in a couple weeks ago on craigslist and I've been having a blast. After finally giving up on the giant overfished lake on base 10 minutes away I've been on a hot streak in smaller ponds. Went out Friday night, this morning, tonight, and kayak is still loaded to go out tomorrow morning, just haven't decided if I want new water or same place as this morning. So far weekend total is up 6 bass with 2 tossing hooks including a 2+ lbs monster that wrapped around my anchor line and left me staring at a bare hook swearing.

I'm still a kayak fishing newbie . I'd be all for a day trip once the fish settle into fall patterns. Making it all the way to Asheboro for sunrise/sunset to catch a 1 hour window of summer bass feeding might not be exactly worth it even in excellent company.

Sorry for the thread jack. Here's a motorcycle in front of the washington monument.
