Tick-Tock Gentlemen

I'll be spending a good part of the fall in Baltimore, well out of reach of this game. This tag is a leisurely 30 minutes from me. I've been waiting patiently for someone to snag it, giving others opportunity to partake. Then I can go after it again if it's not punted across the state. However I'm not a particularly patient person.

That being said, you mountain dwellers have another day or two at most to get on the ball. Otherwise I'll grab it and send it down the hill - at least as far down the hill as I'm willing to go to place a tag. Not that far really, it's flat and hot down there

But I will run snag it and drop it within striking distance of those middle-staters if it doesn't get picked up soonish......

Well place it around Asheville as I will be there Wed. looking at a bike to buy. If I get it I will be looking for the TAG while I'm there.

Little bit of a Hi-Jack but...

Quoted From Mr. Parkers Post in the NCNCtar Game.

Let's keep the Meet and Greet for Sunday August 25th at High Noon (Poor Farmer's Market). If anyone is going to church come on later (but let us know when). There are plenty of riding in the area, including dual sport. Every ride can be looped. So If you are arriving late we can still meet up. Nothing is going to be organized. We can go for a group ride or multi-group rides about 1. Might even do a reconnaissance ride to see if we can locate RevBill? This will be kinda like herding cats (as it should be).
I plan on camping the night before (Sat)at Willville and I invite everyone to join me. Plan to do some riding Saturday (maybe up to Paint Bank). I believe RidingDonkeys is also camping.
The important thing is for everyone to meet. The NC-North-Central group is a great group of riders. For all you lurkers and members of other forums come on down (or up).

Welcome to NC. We play a lot of tag down here, just in case you haven't figured that out yet.

Hey cool. Welcome.

So from judging from where you are playing TAG it is in the western part of the state you are moving to?

Tag.

On Boys Camp Road in Rutherford County just north of Lake Lure. Congrats on the house Boatman, welcome to east coast riding heaven.

This tag placement was just a wee bit too close to flat/hot for comfort, so I had to swing out that way straight from the jobsite (new Sierra Nevada Brewery in Mills River, hence the hardhat)

New Tag

Tag 1088 if anyone else is counting. If not I'll stop this math business, it's too much like work.

Google is your friend. Great place for a family outing by the way, kid/family oriented and million dollar views. The local kindergarten classes often take field trips here, or so I'm told.

Now for the important bits, especially if your google-fu is weak. This tag is in North Carolina Apple Country. There's a ton of other orchards around but this one is uniquely situated. This place is on a road named for the mountain upon which it resides. The mountain's name is synonymous with apex (it's also a brand of golf ball, the name of a bank, insurance company, the list goes on). Speaking of apex(es), there's plenty of them to strafe on this super twisty hairpin road.

Street bike riders - approach from the east. The road is paved to (and well past) the tag. Eventually it goes to gravel but remains state maintained - technically. The recent heavy rains have washed it out pretty well in some places. A GS, Vstrom, or similar big ADV bike would have no trouble (and a lot of fun) coming in from the west, but you wouldn't want to take the Road King or other low slung street bike in that way. Either way you ride, take time to ride the whole road - it's one of the best in a county full of really good roads.
