Awe man! That's hard. You have our prayers too Chris.
A pastor friend of mine told me the reason our pets don't live
as long as us is so we can learn to grieve. He also believes our pets are
Waiting for us in heaven. I'm looking forward to it.

Sadly no.
Took him up to sonic, got him the coney island dogs.

Poor little guy couldn't even lift his head. But he still ate.

Rest well buddy and I hope you enjoyed these fifteen years as much as I did.
I'm sure he enjoyed the entire time with you. Sounds like you went out of your way to keep him happy. 15 years is a pretty good run!

that hurts

we invest so much in our pets and they enrich our lives so much

I had to put down Smokey (my old gray tom) after 18 years this spring.

my constant lap buddy, but now Velvet (10 yr female) has moved into his spot on my lap.

Dagwood (4 yr albino longhaired manx) will be following her I'm sure

when it stops stinging every time you see a dog, start looking at puppies

my condolences to you & yours

I'll say one thing, in thirty six years, that was the hardest decision I've ever made.
Just feel like I should have been able to do more.
Although I did get some strange /angry looks from people letting my little pooch eat two hot dogs..

I wanted to get him ice cream, but I knew if I waited I wouldn't be able to take him to the vet. :-(

Rugby, sorry about Spencer. Some of us have been there. Each dog is unique and a special few become awesome friends.

WOW man. I know how hard it is. I have lost 2 in the past 10 years one of kidney failure and the other of old age. Both hard to deal with. Had both creamated and placed in boxes. They are still with me today.

You will never forget them and might even call another dog his name as I did with mine on a few occasions. Time will lessen the pain but think of all the fun years you had with him.

Hey lets postpone tomorrows lunch. I'm sure you have things you would rather be doing now.

Sorry about your loss Rugby. A good dog weaves it's way into your heart/life and will always be with you in some way.

Old Mark Twain was right when he wrote:

"Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in."

Short notice. Couldn't do it any sooner. sorry.
Truck6driver and me are taking the big tough guy
with a soft heart for an old dog (Rugby)
to lunch tomorrow at locked&loaded.at 1pm.
I couldn't think of any other place on that side of
Raleigh to make it easy for truck6d to find.
Everybody is welcome to come support a good fellow advrider.

I would like to be there. I had planned to go do some work on the land. Don't count me out just yet.

I'm thinkin Village Coffee Shop next to the Millstone theater at 1130 for a meet-up? Easy access to 401 or 95 and plenty of time to roll up to Garner from there. I don't think we've decided on slab or backroads yet.

Sorry to hear about the pup man. I've been through it myself several times. It's never easy. This one's for Spenser!
