Each lighthouse in nc has a unique paint job... A google search of lighthouses in nc will find this one quick.

Chunky Monkey pancakes at Bob's Grill or the crab balls and hush puppies at Darrell's are fantastic for fuelling up either before or after grabbing this tag

All you have to do is Google NC Lighthouses. There is only one with that paintjob, and it will show in Google Images.

Just get on US64 and ride. That'll put you really close.

I don't think so. It's a Bodie Island lighthouse lookalike but not the real deal.
This is the real one

Yep. It's Bodie island light. Wb is right.street view shows the shed. And it can hide the smaller shed with the two chimneys.
That's out of my afternoon riding range.

It's the Bodie Light, and it's real. About 450 roundtrip from Raleigh.

Over/under in how long it sits? I say 9 days!

Bob's was good. Wouldn't recommend the restaurant at the Nags Head Pier for breakfast though, bad and skimpy as well as overpriced. The Dunes has a good b-fast buffet on weekends. Mulligans was terrible and overpriced.

The bridges were fun on the bike. Great views from the top of Bonner.

I really tried to adjust my schedule to grab the Eastern tag on the ferry, but it was that or the NC tag, one or the other.

You should do it and place the tag on the boat.
The only reason i wont take a tag out to Okracoke is because i have a phobia with open bodies of water...no boats/ferries or high long bridges over large stretches of water... otherwise this would be on the barrier islands...laugh all you want but at least i know my limits.
Do you all remember Mr T on the 1980's TV show The "A" Team??? He was deathly afraid to fly and they would have to DRUG him to get him on a plane...ok fictional but the same wouldd apply for me...for real...I'd have to be drunk, tripping or stoned ...or any combination thereof...
