Thanks RD and Bne

BNE anytime you want a tofu guide of the Mt Airy area or other interesting places shoot me a PM. I know PC Riders RR just scratched the surface.
I would have left it the area but..... Not there anymore.
New tag in a few hours

Ya know I might just take you up on that...I was looking at taking 158w from oxford all the way to where Old hollow road is taking that until it splits with Old Hwy 52 and then running that up to pilot Mtn...never been up there and want to..that aand roads around there look interesting...
PC Rider may have scratched the surface but he did hit upon some good places...given the amount of time he had. I've had the pleasure of meeting and riding with him several times...He is an outstanding person and glad to call him a friend...and his wife Debbie makes some awesome chocolate chip cookies....

During the Revolutionary War one skirmish was fought in this county. It is called the "Battle of the Big Glades". The battle was fought in July 1780 between a force of Americans, led by Captain Robert Love, and a force of 150 British Loyalists on their way to Charlotte to join Lord Cornwallis, the British commander in the Southern colonies. The Americans won the skirmish.

The Courthouse is a Beaux Arts style building built in 1904. It was designed by architects Wheeler & Runge.

I think PC ride report was an excellent read and he did a fantastic job of exploring. I did not mean to imply otherwise.
Here is the route that works for me with minimal traffic and some great roads.. Rt158 to Reidsville, rt65 to 704, 704 to 89 to Mt Airy or 704 to 8 to 89 to 268 to Pilot Mtn.
Old Hollow rd sucks.. Too much traffic for me.
The NC NC tag is along the first route.

awesome KJH...sometime soon within a week or so i will want to be riding that way...Since I've not been that way looking at things on the map cant really tell you anything about traffic flow or volume...I was just looking for a way to connect from 158 to get up to Pilot Mtn without even getting onto Hwy52...I'm all for less traffic...Oh and I never thought you were implying anything with PC...so no worries mate...

I like tags that I know by sight.

I hate that I don't have time to go get this one.
