Maybe this afternoon....

Actually, I was going to go riding yesterday, after I finished up my TDList, and maybe do a little tagging in the process. Never should have answered the phone. Ended up going in to cover a shift for someone who went home sick . Another beautiful day today, though.
There's a lot of nice riding near that tag, be a nice way to spend an afternoon, even without the tag

Old tag:

A Better look at the sign...

Brookline Historic Church on either Brookline Road or Grassy Brook Road, (depending on whose map you look at) in Brookline, Vt.

New tag in AM

Sorry About That!

I was sure I had been bruced when I saw fresh tracks at the church , so I kinda took my time riding home (lotsa nice dirt roads around there ). I stopped for groceries before coming up the hill, so I checked from my phone. I posted using Tapatalk from the parking lot at the grocery store when I saw it hadn't been claimed yet . Hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did, at least .

It's kinda funny. I live pretty much right across the river from there but when I cross the river, I usually go North. Go figure...

New Tag!

So, I had a few ideas in mind for this tag when I left the house this AM but I have to confess that when a mix of rain, sleet and snow started to fall on me (at about 35* according to my trusty steed's t-mometer), I unhesitatingly, whipped out the Sally Card and went for the closer of the 3...

The Hint:
This is the location of the first bridge built across the Great River, and (in honor of opening day 2012 ) it's located in the town that Carlton Fisk was born in. It's also the site of the first canal built in the US that is still in industrial use today.

If you're in to easy hikes, the Mtn in the background provides a fairly impressive view of the valley and was actually climbed by Thoreau back in 1856.

More info here.

There's tons of great riding, in almost any direction from here, no matter whether you want smooth pavement, 2ndary roads, or dirt. Enjoy.

PM me if you want to ride. I work weird hours (between 3 jobs) but it'd be cool to get together.

Did you check out the petroglyphs just below your bike?

I'd heard that there were some over there but I didn't know exactly where. I'll have to look next time I'm over there.

About half way between your bike and the road, look over the rail on the rocks below, you will see a bunch of Ailien Lookin faces there is another spot there as well, but I haven't found it yet
