Good to see you guys again.

I ate entirely too much this time. Gonna have to learn NOT to order the freaking dessert.

Thumb Mt Hood Rally RR

Here's a bit of a Ride Report on the RallyMoto that took place last weekend. Not a full Rob-style RR, but I am sure you’ll enjoy the pictures and videos.
I had a great time down there, it would be great if next year we could get a larger representation of ADVriders…

It was great to see Luca, Aaron, Troye, Cliff, Bill and other usual suspects, plus meeting folks I had ‘seen’ only on the internet, like Jim Hyde and Ken of Bikebandit, and yet other folks that I had never met and who ride waaay faster than one would think…. I thought I was going fast (hit 85mph on a stretch) but I guess I was not . Those guys were really flying, check out some of videos of Thor, Jeremy, Ian, Bill & Co.

Fun event, very well organized, nice folks all around. Some confusion (on the moto side) on rules that led to sort of ridiculous placement of the top riders. I for one tried to be as accurate as I could on timing etc., and yet managed to pick 6+ minutes penalty . Not an issue for an average rider who cares little about placement, but the fast guys wanted to win and the fastest fellow was downright pissed off… Oh well, he’s a youngster, he’s learning that ‘fair’ is something that exist in children tales only…

I’d recommend the event to folks in a wide variety of skills, the challenge is really w/yourself, no handlebar to handlebar testosterone stupidity.

Here’s a collection of pictures and videos lifted from a variety of amateur folks. Thanks Cliff, Vernon, John, Al, Mark: it’s really a treat to have folks willing to spectate and to take/share pictures and videos- Again thanks and hope to be able to reciprocate sooner or later-

Great images!
Thanks for the photos and video. I was really bummed when I couldn't come down to watch the races. :(

It looks like the weather is going to be nice for tomorrow and I have no meeting planned, so I should be ready for a burger and beer @ 6PM. Hope to see you all then.

Sweet. I'll be there until 8-ish as usual. If the weather's decent, I may be out back.

And somebody slap me if I start talking about ordering the brownies again.

Gabe,
Nice write up on the Mt Hood event. Looks like fun was had by all!
I saw several familiar faces too. Bill, Jeremy, Ian, Matt, etc.
I wanted to go, but had too much going on!

Hey,
I'm sure there's still a few ADV'ers out there that needs a Snortin' Boar Racing T-shirt or Sweat Shirt!

I am meeting Springer tonight and could transport the goods to the Eastside Meet-up. Send me a PM.

Also, don't forget:

Snortn' Boar send off Party / fundraiser at Engel's on Saturday 25th.
Good food, raffle and give aways! Live music after 7:00
Starts at 2:00 till when ever you are done!
Be good to have an idea of who's coming so we get enough chow!!!
Let us know ASAP
Thanks and see you there!

Nice seeing everyone. It was a cold ride home. Next time I will take the GS with heated grips and seat.
Also note to self - any gear that has summer in its name is not good in cold weather. next time wear pants with liner.
