If the CRF isn't street legal, the closest public riding area near you I know of is the Pedlar OHV Trail system. It's on Rt. 130 West of Amherst. The entrance to one of the two parking areas is on the North side of Rt. 130 about 1/8 mile West of where Rt. 130 goes under the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bad new is that the trails are two-way travel and there are often quads on them especially on the weekends. Traction on the trails is almost non existent if there's been a recent rain. The good news is - the trails loop around to two parking areas so getting lost/stranded in the woods isn't very likely and - there are some scenic and twisty paved roads in the same vicinity. The BRP is scenic but watch your speed - lots of sightseers and law enforcement.

witness: Vinegar Hill near miss

So I'm driving down from downtown yesterday, headed for the Vinegar Hill and Preston (?) intersection. As I'm waiting at light to take a left and head up V-Hill, I witness a cage coming down the hill, start to make a left-hand turn INTO THE RIGHT LANE HEADING EAST (i.e oncoming stopped traffic). There's a sportbike in the far left lane (heading east) and cage comes to a stop (realizing something is wrong?) an arm's length or two IN FRONT OF BIKE. It's as if they are getting ready to butt heads.

She (cage) took a moment there as if her brain was trying to process what was wrong with this picture, then backed up, faded further right and continued out Preston heading west.

Bike, shook his head in disbelief, clicked it onto gear and ROARED off in disgust.

I thought I'd seen it all with stupid cage drivers.
I would have shat my undies

Blue sportbike.

well weather forecast is crummy all this week - "isolated T-storms"... but anyone up for some belmont bbq around lunchtime?

I always wanted to make it to one of the lunch meets, but was never able to.
Maybe friday? I'll be riding this week regardless of the weather.

I invited some people over for Friday evening to my house for some motorcycleTV if any of you C-ville people want to come over for a beer and some food...

I've got Baja 500, the moto GP race and 125's from last weekend ,Catalunya and the one before Mugello, the History of BMW motorad, Honda and Ducati all on my DVR. Unfortunately no TT action until July, I think they'll have something on Discovery HD. We can pick what we feel like watching.

I live near the Sheetz in Ruckersville.

MRB and anyone else come on over to meet some of us if you can. A group will be coming over from the valley and others from Orange and my neighborhood.

Hello All,
just found a box of parts from my old KTM 640 Adventure. I have the original muffler, sprocket, footpegs and mirrors. Changed them all out early on. Anybody want em?

Hey guys - I need to get a new back tire put on, new chain, and some minor (i hope) clutch work done. Figure I'll do it all in one fell swoop and just take it to a shop - anyone have any recommendations close to charlottesville?

Last time I took it to a shop, it was to Piedmont powersports last summer, and I'd gladly take it there agian, but it's a 40-minute trek out to orange for me. Anybody recommend anything closer to town?

btw I'm on a honda nx250

I always recommend Tim Morris in Stanardsville (Morris Cycle), but that's not exactly "close." What kind of clutch work?
