However, a few years ago guys were trying everything they could to see what works. No one had any issues that I can recall, and the Dunlop is a solid preforming tire.
Kenda Trakmaster in a 130 rips pretty good too. (I'm assuming you're after dirt prowess rather than gravel road touring)
Yeah, I want 90% dirt tire. I ride conservative on the road when on knobbies. I'd prefer the performance gains off road.

Plus, I swap on my Anakees back on during the winter when I'm not riding much.

Well, you could try the Kenda, it's pretty cheap.

I think Camel ADV ran a couple different 130's as did LostRider, maybe one will chime in with an opinion. (Or maybe I'm wrong.)

I will never buy a Heideneau again!

What width is that E07? 140? Got any more pix? Trying to decide on a 140 or 150

I had my E07's mounted up yesterday and got the wheels back on today for a test run. So far with limited miles (30) I have noticed a bit more road noise(expected) and quicker turn in. I think these will work well for me, but only time will tell.

The Kendas are available in a 150/70 same profile. It's what I have, and unless I am reading it wrong, it should be better than going to a 130.

TKC-80 vs Kenda 784 Comparison on ride to Deadhorse, AK

I like the TKC-80 for all around use but it is expensive. The Kenda K784 compound was changed in 2012 IIRC to make it more durable. I did a comapro on a ride to Prudhoe Bay this month. Results here: link

I've got to ask this. The TKC is 145, the Kenda can't be had for lesser than 110. Where is the double the price difference? I've heard this several times around here, but from what I see, the TKC lasts almost 20% more than the Kenda, negating any extra cost it incurs. There are the nuances around the on road/off road ratio, but cost vs wear ratio for both are more or less the same.

Hi guys,
I had Heidenaus on my GS, but was not keen on their performance on the road or on the dirt. I then had TKC80s fitted and was very pleased with them. However, they need replacing.
I like the look / reviews of the Mitas range. However, I don't want anything less good than the TKCs off-road, which I think rules out the E07s.
The E09s and TKCs look very similar.
The E09 seems to last longer, which would be an advantage.
However, is the E09 superior or inferior to the TKC80 in any other ways?
Thanks for sharing any experience / insight.
Mike
PS: I would probably run the E09 with my TKC80 front for a while, as that tyre still has a bit of life left.

Hi Mike, I just dropped you an email on this. I don't have experience with Mitas but read positive stories. What would be the cost for a set of new E-09's?

Cheers,
Pim

I have an Aramex ShopnShip account to the UAE and have been checking out prices in UK:
E09 rears - £85/AED510 + ShopnShip
TKC80 rear - £90/AED540 + ShopnShip

I will wait 24hrs to see if the mass experience of ADV offers any recommendations one way or the other, and then decide what to order. I’ll ping you a PM before I pull the trigger.
BRs,
Mike

I like my E09's better than TKC especially on gravel. Knobs on TKC are closer together and I seemed to dance on the gravel. The E09 is much better at that. I like 'em.
