Wishing Susan the best!
Beer - well it's not beer, but I will be drinking some Strongbow Cider when I get home.
I went to Sen Yai Sen Lek Thai restaurant and they had a beer float on the menu. The idea seems a perfect waste of beer and ice cream.

Looks like something finally cleared ways and means:

Quote:
Off-Highway Motorcycle Dual Registration Procedures

Effective January 1, 2012 a change to Minnesota Statute 84.788 will allow the owner of an off-highway motorcycle (OHM) to convert the OHM for use on public roads and highways and self-certify that the vehicle meets the requirements for on-road use. Currently it is only allowable to perform this conversion using a kit provided by the OHM manufacturer and for the manufacturer to certify that the vehicle will meet these requirements.

Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) have created two (2) documents to assist customers in performing the conversion and applying for Driver Vehicle Services (DVS) registration.

Those are; a checklist containing a list of the major points in statute that need to be addressed, and a list of frequently asked questions. Both of these documents will be available on the DVS Web site by January 1, 2012.

Some of the differences from current requirements are:
• The OHM will not be titled. Therefore proof of ownership is not required; however it must have current DNR registration in the owner’s name.
• Note-since there is not a title produced, these transactions are not eligible for Fast Track services.
• Registration, filing, and other applicable fees will be the same as any other motorcycle.
• The owner must complete and sign the self-certification checklist, and this form must be submitted to DVS along with a properly completed PS2000.
• In order to register the OHM with DVS it must have current registration with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in owner’s name.

Procedures for Initial Registration (Effective January 1, 2012):

• Ensure the customer has entirely completed the self-certification checklist from the DVS website and the form PS 2000.
• Verify current DNR registration in customer’s name
• Submit this copy to DVS with the transaction documents.
• Do not accept the transaction until the customer provides proof of current registration.
• Enter the appropriate fees and other information on the PS 2000.
• A motorcycle engine number is not required.
• Collect the appropriate fees.
• Issue license plate (if needed) and registration sticker.
