I find my truck does fine if I don't drive it like a redneck eejit.
I tried that in 2003 and cartwheeled a truck on an overpass on highway 10. It was exciting (sort of), and ultimately very expensive.

Twas a great ride in this am! People are looking at me a bit wierd but it sure beats the cage. Anyone else still hanging in there? Really need some heated grips though, any suggestions?

I have a pair of ATV bar mitts (Hippo Hands... sort of) that I used when riding my hack in the winter. Helped out quite a bit. Never had heated grips but would be a nice feature on my next bike.
Electric gloves? Those heat packs you can put in gloves? They can get a bit too warm however!! Scott in Shoreview '79 Suzuki GS550 |

Yes it was very pleasant ride in today. The construction on 169 is done so my backroads to work are nicely unpopulated again.
I use Tourmaster Synergy heated gear at the moment. It has worked very well for me, and is readily available. I have the sleeved jacket liner, and a pair of leather gloves which plug into the jacket. It seems to do very well and keeps me comfortable inside my fleeced lined darien down to about 15 degrees, although the gloves are struggling at that point. Adding bar muffs similar to hippo hands deals with that. I prefer the gloves to heated grips, so that I can use them on any bike. Below that I need to start adding layers, at which point it is too much damned work, and snow is usually not far behind, so I call it a day at that point. For days like today, perfect.

I made it to Fleet Farm for some bird feed, some 357 coin batteries for my caliper and a nozzle for the garden hose. Spooned on a new Shinko 705 front yester day and tried it today.
Today is much nicer, supposed to be 50 this weekend!

As far as I can tell, it's fine everywhere.

I was in my car taking the 35W South exit from 94W and someone on a bike gave me the ADV salute. Or maybe they were telling me to fuck myself. Or maybe both. That's the great thing about the ADV salute, you can never tell.

Yep, you'll be stuck in your own driveway soon enough.

It seems prudent to avoid the three of you for the remainer of the day. This could be considered a Universal Truth.
