Doo tools?

Looking to do my doo on my 2011. Anyone willing to rent or loan me the tools? I am ordering parts today and really don't want to spend the extra for the tools(KLR=cheapass) time for winter maintenance, bike is in basement all warmed up.

Thanks, Tim

There are several sets around. I sold mine on to safetybob. Streeter hosts a tech day around may 1st, and there are usually sets of doo tools there, and a couple of doo hickeys being replaced, so keep an eye out for that. It is not a difficult task at all, but in any case there will be folks at the tech day who have done it before, if yer not in a mad hurry, but I also understand getting it done now before riding season starts.

I have yet to make the tech day, but hope to this year. It just seems like a jolly good gathering of peeps, so it should be a laugh.

Make sure you get a proper eagle make doo hickey. Might as well do the torsion spring upgrade as well, while yer in there.

#1 on Tech Day. Rain made last year kinda sucky but living close to Streeter had it's rewards. He helped me get plenty of work done on my GS550 last summer. Chain, sprockets, what not...

Thanks again Paul!!

Wait for the tech day. Your 2011 is not going to explode in any case.

Greetings. I just did the Doo a few days ago. Do you just need the Doo wrench? Rotor puller also? You'd simply have to pay the shipping both ways. Glad to mail 'em. Just let me know.

I'm a longtime lurker here, but new as a member. Been on my KLR-centric site for a few years. As a guy who's only been riding a few years, I have learned a LOT from more seasoned motorcyclists, and I have saved a LOT of money by doing my own work. Work I would not have been comfortable doing were it not for a large, enthusiastic community behind me. Now I look for ways to give a little back. I look forward to riding with you clowns !!

That is awesome.

And to LumpyOne, while the tech day is great, and there is a lot of experience available there, if you are comfortable working on engines there is no real reason to wait to do your doo. Just git 'er done. It's pretty straightforward.

Those of you that frequent the Central Rally probably met Brownsvillian at some point. Jesse passed away today after a long bout with cancer. Linky
