I'm in a good mood. Must be a result of getting over the monster hangover I had yesterday.

You can browse the map online and if you are so inclined, sign up for a user account and make edits to the worldwide map. I personally have uploaded GPS traces in order to map hiking trails, made corrections to things like street names and added new road segments, etc.

The site garmin.openstreetmap.nl allows one to download various map segments in a file that can be installed on Garmin devices (proprietary .gmap format). You would typically use this in place of maps purchased from Garmin.

There are lots of deer about.

It seems like there are far more this year than previous years. I am seeing a lot more dead ones on the road side, live ones prancing about and crashed cars from deer impacts. Not that I have carefully compiled any statistics on this or anything.

So be careful.

Not that there is a whole lot that you can do about it.

Intrigued by OSM!

I'm going to have to go to school on this. I've used img files on my gps before, but they haven't been routable.

Happy Fathers day

My new coffee cup, courtesy of my son on fathers day.

He's the youngest, so not much more of this to look forward to. Last years cup had a drawing of me driving the boat with him on a tube behind. Good times.

Love it!

I got it, in writing, that I'm the best dad ever

And for the first year "you're" was spelled correctly!

I like the cup, though you might want to take a file to the lip before use.

17 year old punk learned today that throwing a full cup of ice and maybe pop, at an oncoming motorcycle is reckless endangerment. I chased them down. Cop said a felony, but up to the DA. Thrower admitted it and said he thought it would be funny. I wonder what he said to his buddy that let me use his phone because mine was dead.
