I'm off to Q fanatic for a late lunch.

I was going to go to the cornerstone cafe, but they're too close to closing.

Prolly be at Q fanatic around 2.00, or shortly after.

Any Minnesota Riders Thinking About Dawson Next Year?

I'm wondering if anybody's thinking about D2D next year. It's June 19 and 20. Im planning on leaving June 14, arriving Dawson the 18th, a couple of days for D2D, 4 days to run the Dempster, 5 days home. Minimal camping. I ride a GSA 12.

I worked hard today insulating the garage door and washing the bikes.
Now for my next trick I will conjure up a Bloody Mary for myself

Stage 1 winterizing complete. Main bikes have fuel stabiliser in, oil changes done on the main bikes.

Still have to drain a couple more sets of carbs, and then do oil changes on the GS850 and GS1000.

It was quite a fun day. I rode 5 bikes around today.

Won a tag.

Even had some good Q.

Not bad at all.

Sweet deal, if you ask me.

Good luck to you!
Thanks, SWMBO has given me the greenlight so I am trying to reach the seller... but no response yet.

Says street legal, no rear signal, front signal missing, I don't see a license plate either.

Buyer beware

The guys at Team Strange made my Smoke Chasing tour into a slide show. It is here for your extreme boredom.

I didn't think I did all that well in the standings, but I'm not as badly off as I thought I would be.

I'd have done a lot better if it hadn't been for that freakin' deer.

Still, it was fun.

Does the KLX300 have the same 6-speed tranny as the KLX250? I thought the 300 was geared lower for dirt use. The 6-speed is what makes the 250 viable for street use.

Not sure if it's exactly the same... but the 300 does have a 6 speed.
And then playing with the drive gearing is usually necessary... sure.

And the 300 does lack an OEM e-start. But I like kick start bikes.

They're all sorts of fun until you kill it half way up a hill.

Or when you're about to get stuck in deep mud and the only thing keeping you out of it is the tiny forward momentum provided by pinning the throttle... you're almost destined to stall, then.

And that's when your adventure gets adventurous!

The bigger the adventure the deeper the bike sinks

It is easy to have an adventure with an e-start bike as well.

1) install kick start parts on DRZ400
2) only ride enough to ensure the battery is shot in one season (note: no battery tender is needed)
3) be just frugal enough to not buy a new battery
4) make sure to stop on a down hill section
5) do not get stuck in the mud
6) do not stall going up hill
7) do not let the bike take a nap on the trail

Just follow those easy steps to have yourself an "adventure". That is if you are not too busy with group rides to the bar, or food, or etc....
