This could be a bike wrap!-- Just an Idea.. They do it with cars, and I've seen some on the crotch rockets out there...

some one please check into seeing what it would take!

What I've gathered from the net.
It would cost about 4-500.00 to produce a custom wrap..
Now, that is out-side my price range for a wrap -- Yet, I could see someone making up different ones in mass and being able to cut the cost(s).

This would allow them to offer different versions for each model year.

Hmm, a business Idea.

I'd like to see this one but with a darker blue (and maybe a red pin stripe along the edge of the blue??):

Hey, I own a purple GS!

Fritz @ the factory decided it should be that way, so that's the way it stays.

If I were to paint a BMW it would be in some sort of cool Red White & Blue sceme like the 05 BCR or soem of the cool factory "race" bikes we have seen.

I have gotten to the point in my life (old age) where I think custom paint means you have crashed or are trying too hard.

Painting the F800

Seriously now, can a professional painter actually paint the plastic on the bike (removed of course). I used a special plastic paint (spray can) on my DR650 and it looked good. On my 800 I want a professional job that will not scratch/rub off. I'm pretty sure it can be done but I want a yes or no answer not just a "I think it can be done"

Of course they can. My '06 12GS was red and I had it painted alpine white. When I was in for service the guys at BMW thought a new color had come along. This was before the GSA came in white.

Question

Tan/khaki.
Have you considered not reapplying the large GS stamp after painting? I'm thinking it would look better without it. I mean the smaller designator on the beak is enough advertising.

Wow!!!!

Okay, so how is it that every one of your color schemes is better than what's currently available from BMW?!? I LOVE BMW's, but they really need to be slapped around in the color scheme and graphics department.

The dark green gets my vote, the bike looks amazing. I'm going to mention this thread to BMW's (UK) PR company - Perhaps they will take the hint.

Absolutely! I had an '02 R1150R dakar. That's the one with the yellow body panels and tank, and gray stripes on it. Pretty ugly, but it was the only one with a black engine at the time. I bought some BMW black, took all the parts to a BMW paint shop and paid them a bunch of money. A month later, it was all back together and looked more awesome than ever. I still haven't seen a bike like it, and the plastic held the paint very well. It polishes up beautifully, takes it's knocks without cracking, and has looked better than a factory job since '03.

Are there any new colours coming for the F800GS from BMW?

I am thinking of buying a F800GS but do not want one in yellow or gray. I'd love one in white or maybe red. Has anyone heard of anything new coming for 2009 or early 2010? I could wait for the F800R as I read it will be available in white.
