F800GS/F650GS Jesse bags sneak preview

I got permission from Al Jesse to post this link to ADV. All the info will be on their website 2 Oct.

Here's your sneak preview of the new F650/800 GS luggage. Just click on the link below and you will see a bunch of photos just taken over the weekend.

There are two options for luggage - both with our new adjustable Odyssey II mounting system.
8" boxes - 68L total capacity and 33" wide when mounted
10" boxes - 90L total capacity and 37" wide when mounted

Sweet! Those narrow 8" bags just made my farkle list!

Too bad the mounting system is so fugly. Oh well, I'll just have to leave them on all of the time.

i found my luggage!
the 10" ones are significantly narrower than anything else out there, AND they're only 1.5" wider than the jesse's on my dakar!
but since i'm going to be leaving them on all the time, i think the 8" would be much more practical'

What's so special about those cases?
Are they more rigid/reliable that any other? ZEGA/TRAX/OEM?
They have quite special shape - cut angles, that seems a bit strange as they cut useful space, what is the purpose for that?

I think Jesse hit a home run with them.

The front angle is for foot room. The side angles are for lean, and the inboard cutouts are to get them closer to the center of gravity.

I had Jesses on my old R1100GS, and they proved to be very rugged and reliable, and survived several violent encounters with the ground almost unfazed. They got scratched, but never bent out of shape, they way ZEGAs and TRAXs are prone to do, and they remained 100% watertight.

The bevel cuts give you more ability to paddle along with your feet in sand and mud without risking your lower legs, and the outside bevel allows for more lean angle without catching the bottom outside edge of the bags on the road.

It's a fairly well thought-out system. I'm placing my order tomorrow, and I haven't even taken delivery of my bike yet!

On the bumblebee, silver would look goofy. Besides, everything I've heard indicates there isn't much difference between them. They both get hotter than hell!
