If this does indeed work you will have just discovered a great TA improvement and should also run right out and buy a Lottery ticket.....not that I'm pessimistic...I really hope it works...not highly probable.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i saw on transalp.org there is an adapter for the rotor to bolt to the xr forks. I'm preety sure 1 guy just enlarged the bolt hole/ made it oblong to accomadate the bolt.. they may have changed the spacers as well for the disk to line up.If I had a functional ta wheel .... but i don't so.....?

Went out to Denver back in April. Ended up having to jump start my buddy's KTM 990 Adventure almost every day. And that was AFTER cranking mine over for 5 minutes to get it started.

I transfered the big disc adapter from the TA forks to the xr's. Had to grind a little but its working fine....as is the wheel nut spacer on the shock...

Yes but this was with early 90s XR forks. I,m assuming yours are modern
XRL models. dunno if the caliper mounting is the same or not....if so, the mods on the early part of this thread should work well.

Temp Guage

Need a little help on my NT 650 engine swap into a T A chassis. Could someone please tell me left to right sitting on bike how the black, green, and blue with green stripe wires are installed into the back of the temp guage on U S model. After a long bout of stagnation I finally got the carbs working and it runs bitchin. Got some wiring and fab. work and I should be back in the saddle. I will do a recap when completed for everyone edification of my trials and tribulations. As our motorbikes accumulate the miles I think many will go the NT 650 engine swap as there are many out there.

They have plenty of mods and do some trouble shooting as you would expect on a epic journey.

According to the shop manual wiring diagram:

Green on the right

Black is in the center

Green with blue on left

This info has not been double checked on the bike, proceed with caution.

When I mated my AT gauges up to the TA wiring I found the temp gauge not working....on closer inspection is was working but in reverse. I swapped the two wires leading to the gauge and it's been working well ever since.

Maybe the Hawk temp sensor is wired the other way 'round.

Just picked up a very nice 1900 original mile transalp. A few carb issues but all is well. I've searched here but haven't been able to find the info, has anyone found acceptable substitutes for honda's discontinued carb kits.

Never mind, if it helps anyone else, I have been told the GL1200 diaphramns fit perfectly but the proper ones and floatbowl gaskets are available from these guys in England, http://www.nrp-carbs.co.uk
