Maybe use an airbox and filter from a 70 degree Berg to sit between the rails above the motor.

Here's one fuel tank idea. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550372

One headlight is 14 cm (5.5 in) across. Both measure 28.6 cm (11.25 in) from edge to edge.

Speaking of head lights

Have any of you seen or used these 5x7 LED headlights?

Looks like it would be a good plug and play

T/A Project

I bought a 1989 T/A about a year ago with the intent of converting it into a A/T.
Well in the mean time I have moved and am getting ragged on by my wife about all the projects I brought to the new house!

Thought I would post this here for you guys before I go into the FM.

I have a complete 1989 TA which I bought from the original owner with 8600 miles. It was plated last in 1996. I brought it home cleaned the carbs, installed new boots and two new CDI's and new battery, it fired right up. I purchased the AT conversion parts (most), side plastics, front plastic and mounts , headlights and mount, instrument cluster, lower tank support bracket.
I alson have a CR triple and forks and XR forks. All the At stuff is scratch free and looks fantastic. TA plastic on one side is scratched but fixable. I also have an extra TA muffler in excellent condition as is the one one the bike. The bike has spent it's life garaged

I would like to get this whole thing gone as a package. Feel free to PM me if you might be interested.

Barry

Triple clamps

Anyone know of any other Honda triple clamps that fit the TA? Preferably more accessible, like XR forks maybe? My triple clamps are ever so slightly bent (less than one millimetre) but it's of course magnified down the length of the forks so that the wheel is slightly skewed. This alone doesn't bother me but it seems to have an effect on my front caliper because all my brake discs end up getting warped within less than a thousand miles...

Anyone have any replacement ideas or other hypothesis for my disc issue?

How did you determine that your rotors are warped?

A NX650 triple clamp could work but I am not sure if the TA ignition switch fits perfectly.

I love it! Thanks for posting! I would love to see it with the gas tank and seat.

On that note, has anyone seen a plastic tank on a TA? Acerbis has to have something for some perimeter frame bike you would think. I still think the tank under the seat option sounds like a good idea especially because you could increase the seat to foot-peg distance while you were at it. That is probably my biggest ergonomics complaint. But again, I am jumping ahead too much, for me one bite at a time, one bite at a time...

Never seen a plastic tank from any model of any kind fitted to the TA or AT.

No to say it isn't out there....I just don't know what it would be.

The same symptoms are coming up (throbbing/pulsating brake lever) as the last disk I had on there, which I determined was getting progressively warped using a glass surface.

My pads look fine but maybe I should replace them anyway to be sure...
