Cool2 Central Live Music

Now that the riding season has tapered off for most of the FF's in this region I thought it might be cool to start a live music thread to keep us entertained for the winter months. Let us know about some cool bands that are coming to your town or travelling around the region.

Becuz.... Live Music Is Mo' Bettah!

Cool, I was just going to post about the A.S.S. show in the "Ohio" thread but then I saw how they were really hitting the whole region pretty hard.

In these days of major market media conglomerates I just like to do what I can to promote alternative entertainment possibilites.

The Freddy Jones Band ...

The Freddy Jones Band will be playing at Martyrs 3855 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago on Fri 11/23 and Sat 11/24. Supposedly they will be recording for a 'live CD' release.

Hey Panic - Check your PM. I need a hotel room - preferably within walking distance to Martyrs. Any ideas ?

Thanks -

No, they only play on Thursdays as all are in other fulltime bands. I'd go check out Mr. Blotto on Friday or Saturday night. They are playing an acoustic show on Friday night at Wise Fools Pub and an electric show at the Wild Goose on Saturday night. The guitarist for HacknWheeeze is also in Mr. Blotto (his fulltime gig). Iff'n I can get a kithcen pass I will get out to one of these shows. (both on the Northside not too far from my 'hood)
Go here for a listen.........there are some song clips and videos etc.

The Train

I caught Wayne "The Train" Hancock last night. This guy always puts on a good show. It's funny, If you had told me 25 years ago that I would someday enjoy country music, I would have laughed in your face.
Course I still don't like popular country music but I sure do like that old Honky Tonk and Western Swing.

Tim O'brien plays Sunday at the Kent State Folk Fest.

Saw him a few years back, had Mary Chapin Carpenter there too!
