It was .75 diam .065 wall DOM mild steel.
The top sleeves were made from .75 dia .188 wall.

I used chrome molly on my X racks but it certainly isn't necessary.

Good info Gary, thanks. You've saved me some concerns. And yes, I'll probably just go with the mild steel. Time to place an order!

Thanks for the pics William. Looks like plenty of room for that little Beaver. Can't wait to get this thing all put together.

Yup. I'll have pics in a few weeks to make you jealous if you'd like. It's still a bit.... snowy right now so the husky is still in hibernation.

Post up those pics. Give us a link if you do a ride report.

Gary and the gang are headed your way.

From what I understand there is some real challenging flying up there.

When are they headed up? Miiiight have the floatplane ready by then if they're interested in some fishing via floats or something.

June 22 is the date we are leaving.

We are doing the whole trip in 2 weeks, ask Gary but I do not think we will have much extra time.

Two of us can only take two weeks off. This young one being one of them.

Trying to be nicer. I killed the thread the last time I started making fun of you. I fear you were planning my demise.

Need a lil input. I have spare Garmin Nuvi that I was thinking about putting on the XR.

Obviously with the limited charging system on the 400, a 12v power source would be an option. I was thinking about something like this:

http://www.procycle.us/dskits/dskit.htm#accessories

The Trail Tech 12v NIMH battery on the page.

Thoughts?

Tks
