I can't believe I found you guys! I have an '07 DL1000 and my wife has an '08 DL650. Not much off road experience for us, but would love to meet and ride with you all. I guess I need to haunt the forums more.

Well right now we may be looking at the 18th, no idea what time.

Need more info from other people on what would be good.

I've got this coming Friday completely off.. no school or work. If anyone wants to do a ride then.

I can't do the 18th. I am off after 1 on Saturdays, all day on Sundays and Mondays. I work at the DMV in Rantoul. I joined Riding Illini, so I can keep up with you guys' rides.

The DMV, somebody to fix tickets and tag dirt bikes?

I threw out the 18th as I work out of the house and I am pretty flexible. William42 is retired, so he can ride most anytime.

I could possibly be up for a ride on Sunday the 16th or Monday the 17th.

Just a DMV grunt, couldn't fix a ticket if I wanted to. Sunday the 16th is promising. Just let me know the time and place.

This Sunday is good for me as well. Weather looks acceptable so far... low 40's and partly cloudy.

A fews weeks a ago I lead a group out of Mahomet. We went west of Mahomet and south of Monticello, about 110 miles if your rode the total loop. Back county roads, some grave roads, and some farmer two track. I showed them all the good roads I know off. I can lead that ride again for you new guys, or if someone else has something they can speak up.

We met at McDonalds east of Mahomet and hit the road at 10am.

Well that didn't last long. Now I need to see if there is a short somewhere or replace the battery. Hopefully I can get this figured out by the ride.

if ya don't keep it on a battery maintainer it will die quickly, my 07 did. take your battery and have it tested, I bet it's ready to be buried. Bring a wad of cash too cause it's expensive to replace!

I would be game for a getaway out of Mahomet. Prefer dirt and gravel as the DRZ doesn't like pavement. 110 miles is a decent cruise, let me know if we can get a group to go again! Looks like Sunny and low 40s.
