Let me know if they have it. Or better yet, if you get one. And from where you found it.

wolfman tank bag fitting?

Hi
I have a explorer lite tank bag and am trying to work out how it mounts correctly.
I have seen a photo of one mounted on this forum and mine seems to be larger, looks like it will come right up to maybe over the key.

Any way the instructions are a photocopy and not very easy to read also they say F650 and G650.
How do the front straps connect to the frame/radiator? Also where do the rear straps go under the seat?

Thanks
Michael

The FAMSA is advertised as waterproof. Is it?

I connect mine to the frame tubes at the side, and a pair of brackets near the forks in front. I don't cover the key.

I have been using the Cortech Supermini for the past week on my F650GS Twin. It fits like it was custom made for it and is perfect for a Glock, spare mag, cell phone and camera. The map window is smaller than most but you just have to make one extra fold from the normal folded map size.

Were you able to mount your bag? I've got the same one mounted and can send a few pix your way.

I don't know what all the negatives are about, but I went with the BMW Motorrad tank bag.

Large? ...Yes!
Which is good for me as I tend to go lighter in the back. I want a tank bag to actually carry a reasonable amount.

Weight up high? No worries as the gas is under the seat. I feel my 650 is a light feeling bike to start with.
Bravo to under seat fuel!

Standing? Fine for me, not much interference.
I don't do that rally style standing except for to stretch. Locked knees (or close) is not good IMO.
When I stand its to absorb bumps/get over rough terrain, which means butt back, crouched, dirtbike style. For me at least.

I'll find out if its waterproof - most all tanks bags I've ever owned let water in...
I put most everything in plastic bags anyhow.

Reading gauges? Yes! No problem, I don't know what that fuss is about.

The control pods do bump into the tank bag slightly at full lock, although nothing is upset and I turn to the locks minimally.

That map pocket is large! Nice, I still have paper maps...
There is also a nice phone/ipod indent in the map pocket - I can actually toggle through my iphone.
Thoughtful there.
Hard to get into the map pocket? Hopefully it will be hard for water to get in also.

No straps hanging about. BMW has a clean clever attachment.

I'm sure the biggest arguement would be price. But I am willing to pay for quality.
I can't believe all the bucks up BMW owners who put cheap shit on their bikes.
Doesn't make sense to me.
Value is perceived by each owner I suppose.

But so far, I like!

In the first image for example it's fairly obvious that the extension piece to the handlebars is almost overlapped by the front of the bag whilst the second image appears to show this same extension in half view at least. It would perhaps be helpful if a second person were able to capture the image having first noted your eye line.

Not sure I follow you. Extension piece to the handlebar? My noted eye line?
As far as seeing the gauges? Huh?
Everything clears, I can see the gauges fine.
The key is right at the front of the bag as many are with the key being on the tank.
Nice place for the key, until you wanna put a tank bag on.

Sorry, I should have said the risers on your handlebars (centre of your bars). Looking at the angle the nose of the bag makes with the riser it appears that one would have to be 20ft tall to see the riser from a sitting position. In the second image the riser is quite clearly viewable from behind the bag although appears to be taken from a low angle. Maybe it's a trick of the light?

I think I'm going to get the Wunderlich. Does it come with the map pocket? Also I did not see the rain cover on their site, where is that located?
Thanks
