Solved one and offered one, since I became interested in the TOR gig day before yesterday.

I've tendered my apologies, I have completely misunderstood the meaning of the TOR games. I thought it was an effort to get ADV inmates to ride our motorcycles to interesting places we might have not otherwise known about -- and BTW, I think the center of the world tag was an excellent one.

After reviewing almost every TOR on ADV, seemed to me like the solution of the specific whereabouts of the tag was something of a group effort, followed by a test of who had the balls to go nail it.

Seems to me now that the solution of the puzzle is at least as important as the riding effort, and in a few TOR's, even more so. I take no issue with that and am happy to comply with the rules, even where they are not immediately apparent.

Probably because I can ride seven days a week, and often do, I'll be up your way to bring the tag back down to South Georgia, and rest assured, I'll keep my modest puzzle solving skills to myself, both in the solving and in the offering.

Fair enough?

Welcome to the game and good to see you want to move these tags. Seeing where they go and learning about new areas is part of the beauty of this game.

Get out of jail for free?

Trust me you, I've stepped on a few toes myself in this game and felt terrible for it. Sit back and study would be my best advice.

There's lots of activity and history in this thread. Play along.

All's good halmc

I'm kinda new at this motorcycle stuff, likewise the TOR thingy. And yes, I'm pretty much a whiney noob.
I'm hoping to learn some more about the bikes, maybe take a trip or two sometime. I've even considered learning to take my GS off the pavement someday.

Maybe one day I might even get to ride with some whippersnappers, but I probably ought to get a little more experience first.

That would be really cool to see someone ride all the way up to GA from Fla. Do you get to do extreme rides often?

But, yes I agree.....come play tag with us....the more the merrier.

Thanks, glad the volume is turned down.

I think the TOR game is very cool -- perhaps the best part is learning of places in ones own extended neighborhood that are interesting, historical, and (dare I say) educational. I've ridden from Fla to NC with in a few miles of the current tag without a clue that it was there. Next time I'll check it out.

Re 'extreme' rides, my several cross USA rides are small potatoes when compared to the spectacular international rides that many ADV inmates regard as ordinary. So, yup, I ride a lot, but extreme? Not by their examples.

Anyway, through my f'up, the current tag oughta be easy. Again, my apologies, but somebody go grab it before I do! Hmmmm . . . Atlanta holiday week traffic in the cold might qualify as 'extreme' in anybody's book.

BTW, from the North Florida TOR: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=196

Good job, monkee.
I'm glad this one is out of the way
I used wi-fi at the Hart Co. Library. good fast connection. You'd be surprised how easy the libraries are to use and to find. Plug library into the Zumo and find out there's just about always one near-by.

welfare recips. sig

With Monkee's signature, I'm guessing he doesn't like libraries much. Libraries = welfare for readers.

Hi Phideaux. I sure wish you would learn to ride that GS off the pavement! SuchesRider
