New England BMW Mechanic?

I'm in New England for several months and have a motor-swap project to keep me busy this winter. I'm looking for recommendations for a mechanic to freshen up my 1150GS motor while it's outta the bike.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the leads. Though I will check out MAX, I'm definately looking for a smaller shop, and am willing to drive to the right place. I'm in the Boston area, so NH is certainly close enough.

Cheers!

This directory lists a couple, including Affordable Beemer mentioned above.

Does anyone have experience with Cycle-Tech in Mansfield?

(I lived in Boston for a decade, but that was before my R100. I have a friend who would know, but he's riding an Africa Twin back from CA right now)

Second Wind BMW on the Nashua/Merrimack NH might be worth checking out, as well.

No experience with this shop but it is close to Boston and it is very independent.

Thanks muchos for the additional referrals.

With the contact info listed on his website, I attempted to call Chris at Affordable Beemer Service, with no answer or voicemail. I then sent an email to him, which was auto replied to immediately. Apparently he closed that business and is now more involved in video production, though he states he still services some models of BMW. I sent my email to his new email address.

I then called Second Wind and spoke to Chris in service. He was enthusiastic about the project and told me if I schedule it after Nov 1st I'll recieve a discounted labor rate, as winter business is slow in these parts.

I will try a couple other of the listed referrals, and update with new info.

Thanks and Cheers to all!

David, the mechanic at AJ's has many years of experience and is a great wrench. Reaching the shop (a very small 2 brother operation in business for 40+ years) by phone I have found to be very hard (and no answering machine!). I'd try sending them an email....
