Yeah. First time use. He's hoping he doesn't have footage of an 'under canopy' tour. Guess you can't view it until its downloaded.

Making our way towards the coast today. Morning roads should be good - Costa Rican slab in the afternoon. I'm sure those will be good, too.

Two hours behind here for anyone who cares.

After looking at that and a few other suggested videos I have two thoughts.

1. It is Very pleasing in both sound and power to see such a COOL thing. If they can only be made to detonate on impact and control. Then again with some servos and a ship autopilot GPS the navigation would be easy.

2. As a pilot, I would be F&%$@# shitting myself if I had one of those things come with a few hundred feet. One was TTL FL11 and M1.2 I know the FAA must be notified prior to launch...but as anybody can get some potassium nitrate and sugar there is always the possibility of Bubba and Billy Joe saying "hold my beer and watch this"

ya, i had that thought too, cept when i was looking into a recovery system for my tomahawk, i kinda figured a guidence system would be the way, ya know just have it steer itself home, and was doing a little research on it and got flagged by homeland security, it seems that a big rocket, that's all well and good, a rocket with a guidence system? bad, very bad.

the faa is suposed to be notified for any launch of over a pound

it is a very satisfiying sound though isn't it?

Yeah, he just picked it up new from the dealer last night, so he hasn't had any time to modify it. Yet.

I can see that, Probably not a good idea to persue. Did you get a letter or a visit? I have a contact who worked in the Hawk missile systems guidance and extreme condition testing in the then Panama zone. Interesting systems from what I can get him to talk about which isn't much.

I remember when I was flying, an escort sortie of two private aircraft had to fly into PWM for some radio work. In order to enter Class C you need a radio, but the accompanying aircraft was providing that. The two landed at a small airstrip near KLEW for fuel and while there the FBO actually got a call from homeland security asking for the information of the owners. Seems it's bad for folks to fly as an escort too. Something about drug running.
